‘Fallout Shelter’ App Now Available On PC, Dwellers Can Now Be Sent On Quests

Bethesda’s popular game application Fallout Shelter is now available to download on PC in addition to the available download via the Apple App Store or Google Play. Not to mention, Fallout Shelter just updated with patch 1.6 adding the new Quest system that gives Dwellers a completely new adventure and players a new way to play Fallout Shelter.

With an addictive goal of providing the perfect vault for Dwellers, while also managing their needs, Fallout Shelter has proved to be rather popular on iOS and Android devices. Today, the game can reach even more players as it is now available on PC via download. Players without phones or those that do not wish to play on those devices now have the option to download and play Fallout Shelter on PC.

As stated on Bethesda.net, over 50 million players have tried Fallout Shelter since its release during last year’s E3 convention. The free app has since expanded with a number of updates including new systems like Pets, Crafting, and more. Players on PC can now start their own adventures by simply downloading the app on their computers. The Bethesda launcher is necessary to download and start playing Fallout Shelter on PC. After downloading the launcher, players can select the Fallout Shelter icon located on the left side of the launcher and select Install at the bottom right side of the launcher. The device will need over 1 gigabyte of space for the game; however, the download is much smaller.

“Whether you’re a seasoned Overseer or just starting out, the PC version offers the full Fallout Shelter experience, complete with every update – including Update 1.6. The PC version is available now.”

Existing players and new players alike can also now enjoy the new Quest system in Fallout Shelter. Update 1.6 added the new feature that gives Dwellers the chance to explore new locations for a chance at more loot and caps. After building an Overseer’s Office, players can view their available Quests by clicking or tapping their Pip Boy and selecting the map icon. From that screen, players can choose the quest and select Dwellers to send on it with ease. Once the Dwellers reach the destination, players can direct their team through new locations like other vaults, abandoned buildings, or other areas common in the wasteland. Each room may contain loot or enemies for the team to find or vanquish.

Even the standard exploring Dwellers can benefit from the new combat system. While out looking around, an explorer might contact the player asking if he or she can explore a landmark just located. The player can tell the explorer to ignore the location or the player can choose to explore the area. If the player decides to let the explorer investigate the new area, the player will be taken to the explorer’s location where they control the Dweller in looking around the area. Much like the Quests from the Overseer’s Office, players will take their explorer through darkened rooms looking for loot or enemies to slay. When completed, the player can opt to let the explorer continue in the wasteland or return to the vault.

Players can head over to the official website for Fallout Shelter to begin the PC download today. Just click “Download on PC Now” to get started with the Bethesda launcher. Also, it is important to note, saves on the PC version are separate from those on iOS and Android. In fact, all saves of Fallout Shelter on different devices are their own saves.

In other news related to Fallout, the fifth piece of downloadable content for Fallout 4 is the upcoming Vault-Tec add-on which lets players take control of their own vaults. Boasting a number of new workshop pieces and the ability to challenge settlers with different tests, Vault-Tec is an extremely beefy version of Fallout Shelter in a way. As the Inquisitr reported, the Sole Survivor acts as Overseer to a constructed Vault. After attracting a few settlers to their underground dwelling, the player can then choose to research its denizens with classic Fallout experiments.
