Gigi Hadid Covers ‘Vogue’ August 2016 With Olympian Ashton Eaton

Gigi Hadid is featured on the Vogue August 2016 cover alongside Olympian, Ashton Eaton. This is Hadid’s first time gracing the cover of American Vogue.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel shares the spotlight with American athlete, Ashton Eaton. The August issue of the magazine pays homage to today’s “12 must-see Olympians” as the Gold-medal decathlete, Ashton Eaton, is poised to be the face of the 2016 Olympic games in Brazil.

Of course, Gigi also showed off her best decathlon moves during the shoot while sporting a pair of Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma sneaker heels. Gigi stuns in a blue, black and white mesh Versace dress with slicked-back hair. The supermodel holds a javelin in the shot for the suitably athletically themed cover.

Gigi Hadid proudly announced her cover debut with Ashton Eaton on her Instagram page.

“Shooting my first American @voguemagazine cover, in my hometown, was so surreal. And to be able to share it with Olympic Gold Medalist and my new friend #AshtonEaton is such an honor.”

Gigi Hadid and Ashton Eaton get playful at the shoot while creating some astounding shots. The two bonded over their mutual love of healthy foods and their undeniably competitive spirit. Their photo chemistry together was definitely on point.

There’s even video proof of her effortlessly running and jumping on set.

Gigi Hadid makes the cover of a variety of magazines each year, but this year, the model got to check working with an Olympic Athlete off of her bucket list. The model enjoyed mixing sports and fashion for the creative shoot. The two show off their hurdling skills- jumping over tall green boxes while looking incredibly chic.

Gigi Hadid is no newbie to Vogue covers.

The 21-year-old is super excited to be on the cover of the American edition of the global publication after starring on the cover in other countries including France, Italy, Australia, China, Germany, and Spain. Gigi said this cover is “an ultimate dream come true.” The young model has landed on an amazing twelve Vogue covers all over the world.

Gigi Hadid’s cover for American Vogue marks her achievement of being on the cover of all of the notorious “big four” Vogue magazine. Being featured on the covers of the “big four,” which includes the US, French, Italian, and the British Vogue, is something that many models aspire to do.

Hadid appeared to be totally in her element beside the Olympian. She told Vogue during her interview about her past days playing competitive volleyball in high school.

“I mean, I trained like a professional athlete. That’s why I think I get along so well with athletes… I’m just a lot more intense than you assume. I’m very competitive.”

Gigi Hadid has been a busy woman this year! Between her über-successful modeling career, spending time with her crew of famous gal pals and having the spotlight on her love life, Gigi’s year has been a whirlwind.

The 21-year-old tells Vogue how she keeps up with it all.

“I pretty much just go day by day. It keeps me a lot more focused and less stressed out. A calm mind-set— you know, refreshing your brain after every play.”

Entertainment Tonight interviewed Ashton Eaton, who spoke highly of his experience working with Hadid and the photographer.

“It was so flattering to be considered for the shoot and an honor to work with icons like Gigi and Mario Testino. I was impressed by Gigi’s ability to pick up certain athletic moves for the shoot along with Testino’s ability to command the whole set and get us both on the same page.”

Following the release of the images, Eaton took to Twitter to continue praising his work with Hadid.
