Chris Hemsworth Spills The Beans On Tom Hiddleston And Taylor Swift Amid Rumors About ‘Staged’ Romance
Chris Hemsworth has spilled the beans on what’s going on between pal Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift amid allegations that their romance was staged, the Mirror reports.
Hemsworth, who plays the titular character from the Thor movie series, is currently filming the franchise’s latest installment, Thor: Ragnarok, with co-star Hiddleston.
In an interview with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa, Chris was asked about Tom’s relationship with the “Shake It Off” singer, to which the Thor star replied, “He looks happy, mate. Yeah!”
Asked if he had the opportunity to meet Swift, Hemsworth replied, “I haven’t met her personally, they only got here a few days ago.”

It’s no secret to anybody that Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift are the most talked-about celebrity couple in the past month. Some people in the media, however, speculated that the whirlwind romance between the two have been staged.
For one, the series of photos that started it all — the one showing Tay-Tay and Tom smooching on the rocks in Rhode Island — made them look like they were auditioning for a Nicholas Sparks movie, raising initial suspicions that the hookup was meant to further boost their respective careers.
A source also told Hollywood Life said that the staged romance was a probably a “huge power play” that aims to land Hiddleston the role of the next James Bond.
“Tom is making a huge power play dating Taylor in his quest to be the next James Bond,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. “Producers are desperate for the next Bond to be a universal name that will boost the brand worldwide, especially in America. Tom’s not silly – he knows by hooking up with Taylor he will give himself the best opportunity in securing the part. After all, a romance with arguably the biggest pop star on the planet will guarantee you huge coverage and that can only strengthen his hand in getting the role. This will certainly make him clear favorite now, ahead of the likes of Aidan Turner, Idris Elba and Tom Hardy who have all been mentioned.”
Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris, himself suspects that Swift is only hanging out with Tom so she can land a Bond girl role. But then again, it’s hard to take seriously the words of a possibly-embittered ex.
American TV personality Spencer Pratt also suspects that the hot couple’s paparazzi photos were staged, leading to numerous “exclusives” that appear too convenient.
“I think someone on one of their teams may have tipped off the paparazzi, and I think it may have been his team since it was The Sun, a British tabloid, that got the exclusive,” he told Cosmopolitan.
“Then again, she’s Taylor Swift, and there have to be people who see her walking to the beach and call a tabloid. But, if that’s the case, we haven’t seen any fan pics, and that’s what makes me think it’s an exclusive [to the paparazzi]…. It’s definitely a staged photo.”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, Hiddleston finally addressed the rumors that his romance with Swift was a publicity stunt, insisting that he is “very happy” with Swift.

“Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”
The interview also came on the heels of the announcement that he earned an Emmy nomination for his performance on popular BBC series The Night Manager.
Asked how he took the good news, Hiddleston admits that the nomination took him completely by surprise.
“I didn’t have any expectations, and suddenly my phone started blowing up a couple hours ago. This is the most wonderful surprise, and honestly the most thrilling thing about it is that it feels like an extraordinary and heartwarming affirmation for the whole team who made The Night Manager. Making The Night Manager was the most fulfilling team effort, and I’m so proud of everybody.”
