George Clooney Gets Restraining Order? Migrants Taking Over Lake Como
George Clooney and his barrister wife, Amal, have apparently been made fearful enough due to the actions of a man named Mike Bibbee, who has reportedly been threatening the notable actor and his wife for quite a while now. Although Bibee has not been physical or engaged in any sort of confrontation with George or Amal, he has been guilty of sending numerous letters that involve delusional messages and include troubling content.

Following Clooney’s petition for protection, court documents were appended about Bibee that indicate he suffers from bipolar disorder and may also suffer from schizophrenia.
The content of the letters is quite varied. Within one threatening letter to George and Amal, the man makes reference to the JonBenet Ramsey murder from decades ago, as well as the Orlando shootings at Pulse nightclub, which took place just last month. Bibee refers to the victims of the shooting at the LGBT club as “criminals and pedophiles.” The troubled man also makes mention of a plot to assassinate George Bush, Sr.
A judge did grant George and Amal Clooney legal protection, and have ordered that Mike Bibee must stay at least 100 yards away from the actor’s home and the couple at all times. At present, Bibee is being held in a psychiatric ward due to his recent behavior.
It’s unlikely that George and Amal will find themselves in harm’s way at the hands of Mike Bibee, seeing as the power couple spends much of their time in Italy at their gorgeous Lake Como villa. However, even that particular villa has experienced the odd threat or two. As Gossip Cop reports, back in 2014, a man who was native to Romania found his way onto the property that led to him stealing a bottle of wine, followed by an attempt to break in and steal more from within the home. The man was apprehended by the Clooneys’ security staff and never was successful with his break in attempt.
It is no secret that George and Amal have been supporters of immigration and refugees for some time now, and interestingly enough, it’s being reported that many migrants are setting up tents near the train station of the exclusive town of Lake Como. A “makeshift refugee camp has sprung up in Lake Como,” as reported by Fox News, that is a hideaway for a number of celebrities, including Clooney, as well as Richard Branson and Madonna. It has been a destination that has been a favorite of the ultra wealthy, famous, and powerful, due to its incredible views overlooking the lake, and was built in Roman times.

Roberto Bernasconi, of a local Catholic charity, shares how he and his fellow workers are attempting to assist the migrants.
“We are helping them with food, clothing and we are also mounting showers. But it is very difficult, we do not know how to welcome all these people. In the Como diocese we have over 2,000 migrants in the facilities – there is no room. I do not know how much longer we can bear the brunt of this mass of people who would like to cross the border but who are not willing to leave Como.”
Clooney’s current safe haven has long been the passage to European migrants. Just yesterday, 1,000 migrants were saved in six separate rescue operations on the Mediterranean. The six boats included four rubber dinghies and are believed to have left from Libya, which is overrun by gangs and crime.
Italy is now the main entry point for migrants. So, as it seems, the Clooneys are likely able to do their part to assist in this crisis just by setting out in their own safe haven.
