July Is National Ice Cream Month, But Are You Getting The Deals?

July is National Ice Cream Month and July 17 is National Ice Cream Day, but are you getting the deals? You might not be aware, but major retailers are celebrating both National Ice Cream Month and Ice Cream Day with freebies, bogo deals, new ice cream flavors, and more. According to a report by WFAA, Blue Bell announced they are adding a new ice cream flavor on Friday, July 15, 2016, while Uber announced they’ll provide free ice cream deliveries on the same day. Uber teamed with Magnum, and will deliver ice cream to more than 400 cities worldwide. They have created a social buzz around the event called #ubericecream.

Because July is National Ice Cream Month, ice cream and ice cream flavors are celebrated on at least six days throughout the month. For example, July 1 is Ice Cream Flavor Day, July 17 is National Ice Cream Day and National Peach Ice Cream Day, July 20 is National Ice Cream Soda Day, and July 23 is National Vanilla Ice Cream Day. Those looking for great ice cream deals and freebies will want to keep these dates in mind. But interestingly, a new report says that while many in the U.S. love ice cream, consumers are also afraid to indulge for fear that ice cream is unhealthy and fattening. Yahoo conducted a study showing that while ice cream is the most popular dessert treat, many people feel it is unhealthy and would eat more if they believed it wasn’t bad for their diets and waistlines. Even so, the study showed that most people eat ice cream at least once a week.

Ben and Jerry’s is launching new ice cream flavors throughout July, while also promoting democracy through various events and concerts. New Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavors that will debut during National Ice Cream Month include Empower Mint; two non-dairy flavors that are variants on classics such as Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Chunky Monkey, Coffee Caramel Fudge and P.B. & Cookies; Cookies and Cream Cheesecake; Brownie Batter; and Coconuts for Caramel. Keep an eye out for thee new flavors throughout the month and follow Ben & Jerry’s for information on how you can promote democracy and get free ice cream too.

Baskin-Robbins announced a number of ways they are celebrating National Ice Cream Month in July. First, Baskin-Robbins has a new product in the cooler called the Polar Pizza. The Polar Pizza is available in four flavors and they have set up a donation program for the USO.

Baskin-Robbins is also honoring the USO with the creation of their new flavor Patriot Pop.

Another new flavor Baskin-Robbins released in July is OREO® Birthday Cake. OREO® Birthday Cake is available in a milkshake, cup, or cone. Those who purchase a double scoop can upgrade to a fresh-baked waffle cone throughout July.
