‘World Of Warcraft’ Players Soon To Encounter Demon Invasions In ‘Legion’ Pre-Patch

With Legion, the sixth World of Warcraft expansion, set to release on August 30, players are eagerly awaiting the release of the expansion’s pre-patch. It is definitely getting closer as Blizzard Entertainment continues to offer new details on the pre-patch and the demonic invasion it will summon soon after its release.

Last week, Blizzard developers announced the end of the last Warlords of Draenor PvP season for July 19. That was the only in-game activity needing to come to an end in order to usher in the Legion pre-patch. Although there is still no firm date on when the pre-patch will debut, it could be as early as the PvP season end date or any time thereafter. As the Inquisitr reported, the pre-patch will first release new base features new base features, then the demonic invasions will start, and soon those that have pre-purchased Legion will have early access to the Demon Hunter hero class.

Today, the imminent demonic invasions are detailed on Battle.net, giving players a preview of what to expect when the Burning Legion makes its presence known. Sometime after the pre-patch goes live, the invasions will begin. The pre-patch has no solid date; however, the invasions are scheduled to start no later than August 17. This is said to coincide with the second or third week of the pre-patch event.

When the invasions occur, players can simply view their world map to see that demons are invading different locations around Azeroth. Completing the multi-stage invasions will reward players with Nethershards the chance at a reward chest as well. A week later, the invasions will become more serious, and the week following that, they will become even stronger. Players will need to stop invasions all over the game in order to complete the two achievements available only during the pre-patch event.

“A week after the invasions begin, the Legion’s assault will begin to intensify. Then, a week after that, the demonic onslaught will intensify even more, increasing your chances to complete the event-only achievements Stand Against The Legion (for completing one invasion) and Defender of Azeroth: Legion Invasions (for completing invasions in all six locations).”

In addition to receiving Nethershards for participating in invasions, players also have a chance to obtain new item level 700 weapons from parts two and four of the four-stage invasions. There are 16 new weapons total for players to seek out from the Legion pre-patch invasions, too. The guaranteed invasion reward, Nethershards, are a new currency used to purchase items; some only available for a limited time.

“One more item that we’d like to tell you about is a new toy that will be available during the Demon Invasions: the Pocket Fel Spreader. It’s not actually a good idea to leave it in your pocket, but it is a great idea to figure out how to obtain one of these tainted trifles—because this may be your only chance.”

As stated on database website WoWhead, players can use Nethershards to purchase Coalesced Fel which can upgrade one of those invasions weapons to a maximum of 725. Moreover, Nethershards can be used to purchase items like potions, full ensembles of transmogrification gear, a new Felbat Pup battle pet, item level 700 jewelry, and a stylish Legion-themed cloak.

Of course, players will need to fight back invasions before purchasing these new items. WoWhead calls the invasions group scenarios and details each invasion stage. Players will be tasked with defending an area in the first stage, defeating a commander in the second, killing mobs while saving friendly units in the third, and finally defeating a boss in the final stage. Eager players can check out their guide to invasions for details on locations, steps, and more on the WoWhead website.
