Blake Shelton Joins Gwen Stefani On Tour Amid Claims She Wants To ‘Keep An Eye On Him’

Blake Shelton is hitting the road with girlfriend Gwen Stefani amid reports that Gwen wanted to “keep an eye on” Blake while she’s on tour.

Shelton took to social media to tell the world that he’s joining Stefani as she tours North America on her “This Is What The Truth Feels Like Tour,” revealing on Twitter on July 12 that he was backstage as Stefani kicked off her first string of shows in almost a decade.

“Hey Boston.. I’m so happy for y’all!! I’m here watching @gwenstefani rehearsal right now. Prepare yourselves for greatness,” Shelton teased on the 140-character site before following up his initial message with a snap of Stefani onstage during her performance at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Blake’s confirmation that he’s on the road with Gwen comes just days after OK! Magazine reported that Stefani was contemplating asking Shelton to join her on tour to calm her fear that the two being away from each other for too long could put a serious strain on their relationship.

Admitting that Gwen was preparing to ask Blake to join her on tour so that she could “keep an eye” on her boyfriend of around nine months, an insider admitted to the site earlier this month that “Gwen is worried about the idea of spending so much time apart.”

“[Gwen’s] afraid it’s going to blow up their romance,” the insider added of Stefani’s tour, which will see her on the road until October as she plays 28 shows around the United States and Canada, as well as marking Stefani’s first significant amount of time away from home since she and Blake became a couple in late October 2015.

And it looks like Stefani is definitely sticking to her guns and keeping an eye on her man, while Shelton appears to be more than happy to reciprocate.

Gwen Stefani also took to social media to show off a snap of herself and Blake Shelton spending some quality time together while on tour, posting a black and white shot of the two cuddled up on Instagram.

Though Blake did not join Stefani onstage as she kicked off the “This Is What The Truth Feels Like Tour” in Massachusetts, sources previously reported that Shelton does have plans to surprise the audience with an impromptu performance of his and Gwen’s duet, “Go Ahead And Break My Heart,” at select shows later in Gwen’s big tour.

“Blake is even going to show up at a few of her gigs and perform with her,” an insider alleged of Shelton to In Touch Weekly earlier this year, suggesting that Blake was hoping the promise of seeing him hit the stage with his girlfriend could up ticket sales.

While Shelton’s social media snap showed few empty seats at the front of Xfinity Center on July 12, Perez Hilton reported that Gwen’s kick-off concert wasn’t exactly a sell-out.

The blogger alleged that Live Nation representatives were standing outside the theater before the show and supposedly handed out free tickets to Stefani’s show to passers-by.

The site also claimed that “in order to make the place seem packed, the venue cut off the lawn — which seats thousands — and relocated those people to the front,” closer to Gwen.

Stefani and her team have not responded to the report, although In Touchy Weekly previously claimed that seriously low sales were a big reason Blake opted to join Gwen on tour.

“It makes him sad that she isn’t selling tickets when she has worked so hard on this tour,” a source told the site of Shelton.
