‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 6: Core Separation From The Evil Queen To Make Regina Too Soft? [Spoilers]

Warning: Once Upon A Time Season 6 spoilers are below.

Once Upon A Time Season 6 is getting closer to airing on ABC network. What can fans expect when Regina and The Evil Queen return? OUAT spoilers state that the “core” separation will have more of an effect than viewers think. Could the two being split apart make Regina a different person? Will Lana Parilla’s character become too soft with the absence of her negative alter ego?

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the official Twitter account for Once Upon A Time tweeted a photo of the Season 6 poster. Instead of featuring several Storybrooke residents, only The Evil Queen is visible. There is a close-up of her face, and she has a nasty look in her eyes. It is clear that in the poster, Regina’s alter ego is up to no good and has horrible plans for everyone in the fairy tale drama.

For those that need a quick recap of the Season 5 finale, Regina managed to completely separate herself from The Evil Queen. As reported by Design & Trend, something unexpected happened. Instead of destroying the negative alter ego, The Evil Queen survived. She is now a totally separate person, and there is no way to control or contain the evil entity. The Evil Queen was not pleased with how Regina has changed and has waged war on the Storybrooke character.

One important fact to note is that killing The Evil Queen does not seem to be possible. This creates another problem for Regina in Once Upon A Time Season 6. However, The Evil Queen being released and virtually unstoppable are not the only issues the character will face. As Entertainment Weekly noted, OUAT spoilers include Regina and all of the other characters being internally pulled apart. Lana Parrilla’s dual characters are the most extreme and literal example of that.

Even though Once Upon A Time fans don’t know what is going to happen, the poster seems to indicate that Season 6 will focus on The Evil Queen. She is holding an apple that is red on one side and black on the other. A bolt of lightning shoots down toward the fruit, striking it right in the center. This implies that Regina and The Evil Queen are truly separated at the core.

This means more than the two women just being separate beings. It also means that The Evil Queen is completely evil, full of negativity. Since she has no compassion, empathy, or forgiveness, there is no good in her.

As for Regina, she doesn’t have any of those negative traits and is left with only the positive. That sounds good in theory, but nobody is completely good and everything in life requires a balance. With Regina lacking that balance, could she become too compassionate, too nice, perhaps too soft to battle The Evil Queen or be of any use to anyone?

Once Upon A Time co-creator Adam Horowitz previously tweeted the Season 6 title. Called “The Savior,” it had many fans confused. Emma (Jennifer Morrison) was always considered the Savior of Storybrooke. However, in Season 5, Emma Swan went dark and was down in the underworld. Now that she is back, will she go back to being the Savior or will there be someone new to fill that role? BitBag speculated that Regina and Emma could have some tension regarding that issue or Lana Parilla’s character might become the new Savior in Once Upon A Time.

It’s hard to say what exactly is going to happen when OUAT returns with new episodes. However, things are changing, new stories are being told, and expect to be introduced to several more characters. Despite everything else going on, there is one thing fans know and that is The Evil Queen will not go down without a fight. Someone is likely to get hurt or killed in the process, but which character will it be?
