‘Bachelorette’ Bad Boy Justin Rego Reveals Show Is Ran By ‘Puppet Masters’

There is always a lot of talk about how reality shows are really scripted. The Bachelorette is one of the shows that has a lot of speculation from fans. Now, a past contestant is speaking out and sharing a lot of secrets. CBS 8 shared the details about what Justin Rego said in a new interview. He didn’t hold much back at all about his thoughts on The Bachelorette.

Justin Rego actually talked to ET Online. You can check out what he had to say in the video below. If you remember, Justin Rego went by the name “Rated R” on The Bachelorette because he is also a wrestler. He was on Ali Fedotowsky’s season of The Bachelorette, and everyone remembers seeing Justin try to run away from Ali on crutches as she wanted to talk to him. Now Justin is sharing a lot of this stuff was stuff producers helped to happen.

One thing that Justin Rego shared was that on the third day of filming, he already knew that Ali wasn’t the girl for him. They talked him into sticking it out, though. Justin Rego actually wanted to leave the show early, but that didn’t work out. He shared the details.

“I actually wanted to go home [while we were shooting in] Iceland but the [producers] wouldn’t let me. They wanted it to be done in Turkey. But I had a gut feeling it wasn’t going to be that smooth, so I packed my passport and everything I needed to leave. You can see in the footage me grabbing a bag. I was going to leave my clothes and leave everything and say ‘f*** you guys.'”

Another thing that Justin Rego shared about was how he knew that they were interested in him right away. It doesn’t sound like he doubted that he would be cast on the show. The Bachelorette had been accused in the past of casting people as characters that they knew would give the show good ratings. Justin shared the details.

“To stand out I did use my wrestling name, ‘Justin Rated R Rego’ and they loved it. As soon as they picked up the phone and called me that was the first question they asked, ‘What’s with your name?’ I told them that I used to be a wrestler and they were captivated by it and they just kept focus on that.”

Things did work out for Justin Rego and they cast him on the show. He did realize that all eyes were on him and that he was the villain of the show. Justin actually said the best way to describe how it all works is that they are “puppet masters.” He shared that the people on the show are all trying to get them to do what they want by the end of the day. The way they do it seems to be working, though. Justin said that they would feed Ali lines through an earpiece and went on to explain more.

“Okay so they’re the marionettes and they are playing with us and basically trying to get us to do what they want at the end of the day. No matter what we try, they will do what they can to get the result that they want.”
