‘RHONJ’ Star Melissa Gorga On Teresa Giudice: ‘Everyone Was Worried For Her’

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga hasn’t said much about her sister-in-law’s time behind bars. Last year, Teresa Giudice reported to prison to serve just under 11 months behind bars. She was scheduled to serve 15 months, but she was released early. She managed to make it home in time for Christmas and celebrated with her family and her husband Joe Giudice. Joe reported to prison in March to serve just over three years. Teresa had asked her family not to talk about her legal problems on television, so Gorga hasn’t talked about anything over the past year.

According to a new Bravo report, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga is now revealing that the past year has been very hard for her. Melissa and her husband, Joe, have tried to visit Teresa in prison, but she didn’t put them on the guest list. Joe finally got a chance to visit his sister, but Gorga never got the chance. And while she was in prison, Melissa’s family was struggling to move on and be happy.

“I have to say that last year was one of the hardest years for our family. While Teresa was away, everyone was worried for her and wanted to make sure that she was doing OK, but our main concern was her daughters. It was a time for everyone to open their eyes and see that life can change at any minute and it really put things into perspective,” Melissa Gorga reveals, sharing that she did try to make an effort when it came to Teresa’s four daughters.

Fans have kept up with the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars as Bravo decided to do a spin-off show, showing how Joe was dealing with life without Teresa. Joe was clearly struggling to make life function with four daughters and working without a driver’s license. Melissa Gorga also filmed the three-part special, and she took the girls out so they could forget about their problems for a bit. But Gorga admits that she didn’t really have contact with Giudice prior to her return home.

“Before Teresa came home, I didn’t really have any contact from her, so I had no idea what was going through her mind or how she was feeling about me and our relationship. You will have to watch to see what happens when we finally see each other. I will say, she definitely is a strong woman. She got through it and watching her walk through the door and see her children was another favorite moment from the episode. It was so emotional, so heartfelt, and I cried happy tears to see her hugging her girls, back in her home where she belongs. I love how the girls jumped into her arms. We can all take a deep breath now and try to regroup,” Melissa Gorga reveals on her blog for The Real Housewives of New Jersey, according to Bravo.

While Melissa says that the past year has been hard, Teresa’s old friend Jacqueline Laurita doesn’t think it’s a big deal. According to Us Weekly, Jacqueline believes that Giudice will be able to get through the drama with her husband going away, especially since she was able to accept his bad behavior in the past. She points to an example, where he called her ugly names when everyone suspected that he was cheating on her. Melissa Gorga hasn’t commented on this, but one can imagine that it is a bit of a diss.

What do you think of Melissa Gorga’s comments about her sister-in-law? Are you surprised that the year was so tough for Gorga and her husband as Giudice was serving her time?
