Tesla’s Identity Crisis: Is the Elon Musk Company Getting Confused Or Are We Just Not Getting What Musk’s Vision Is?

They say it takes extremely creative people to change the world. When Elon Musk decided to leave PayPal and pursue his vision of Tesla, people were inspired and terrified of his decision.

Now that Tesla is at its stage where they have already released a couple of luxury and SUV batches of electric-powered cars, people are looking forward to see how the company will evolve as a strong automotive company.

However, because Elon Musk has multiple ventures like SpaceX, Hyperloop, OpenAI and SolarCity, people are wondering if Elon Musk would have a strong master plan for the auto company.

Everyone was also stunned with Elon Musk decided to reinvest the majority of Tesla stakes in SolarCity. So, according to Business Insider, the company now has an identity crisis.

Elon Musk was also faced with a bigger conundrum after a man was killed while driving on autopilot on Tesla Model S on a Florida highway. After this massive accident came up, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also tried to investigate the non-fatal crash in Pennsylvania that happened during an autopilot event as well.

Because of the lack in security measures, people are wondering if Elon Musk really wanted to create an automobile company out of Tesla or if he wanted to just create hybrid cars to take advantage of green energy.

Though Elon Musk’s vision is flawless, he wanted to make Earth safer for everyone and develop a real possibility for humans to explore space. Tesla as a motoring business might be in a dire position.

So What Is Tesla in Elon Musk’s Master Plan?

According to Business Insider, Elon Musk never really pegged the company as a direct competitor for General Motors, Toyota, Lamborghini, or any other big auto names. However, he wanted to build cars that could be shifted to sustainable energy. Elon Musk has a grander vision for human kind that would include electric cars — and that is what Tesla is for.

Elon Musk wanted to cover the massiveness of human reach and to solve the global warming issue that has been debated for years now.

As for the fatal incident that involved their brand, Tesla noted that ever since they started years ago, their technology has not failed to deliver on security measures. They also noted that they have a very high level of safety management. Since autopilot is just a fairly new feature in automobiles, many suspect Tesla is not ready to implement their self-driving feature just yet.

Still, no other automaker has taken this big of a shift when it comes to auto technology. It might be because Tesla is in the middle of all the massive tech companies in the world that they are somehow influenced by the clashing cultures of these companies that they are getting mixed messages.

Other carmakers are just on the lookout for how Tesla would spin their technology. Nonetheless, Elon Musk has had a great feat in always finding a way to raise massive amounts of investments with minimum profit case for Tesla. This is something that no ordinary car company can do. At the same time, since other companies are still playing it safe with diesel-powered cars, they do not have to take the autopilot risk and be in the center of the news in case a car accident happens.

What people should bear in mind, though the fatal crash is a serious matter, is the fact that Tesla holds, arguably, the most advanced technology in the autopilot sector at present. If they were not testing out their product, they would not progress as a company, and Elon Musk would not be able to pull his overall vision together.
