Dwyane Wade’s Ex-Wife Siohvaughn Funches Wants A New Divorce Settlement

Dwyane Wade isn’t the only one who wants a bigger paycheck. Dwyane’s ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade feels like she might be entitled to a little more money too. After hearing about Wade’s new $47 million deal with the Chicago Bulls, Siohvaughn wants a judge to throw out her original divorce settlement so she can ask for more money.

According to the Chicago Tribune, after learning of the $47 million, rwo-year deal that Dwyane Wade just signed with the Chicago Bulls, Siohvaughn went to a Cook County judge and asked that her original divorce settlement is thrown out. The reason for dropping the settlement from 2013? Dwyane’s ex-wife wants a bigger piece of the pot now that his pockets are a little deeper.

Dwyane and Siohvaugh were married from 2002 to 2007, when the NBA star filed for divorce. Due to a lengthy legal process, Dwyane Wade wasn’t granted his divorce until 2010. Then just a year later, Dwyane won full custody of his sons, Zaire and Zion, from Siohvaughn.

The former couple continued to battle in court over what Siohvaughn Funches thought was a fair divorce settlement. The long list of attorneys that Funches went through is no secret. The Huffington Post reported that during their divorce battle, Siohvaughn went through a total of 16 attorneys and was even arrested twice. Her erratic behavior caused her divorce from Dwyane to drag on for years and ultimately played a part in her losing custody of their sons.

At one point, Siohvaughn Funches made headlines when she was seen protesting outside at Daley Plaza. During the odd protest, Siohvaugh claimed that Dwyane Wade had left her destitute, homeless, and without her children.

In 2013, there was finally a divorce settlement agreement between Dwyane Wade and Siohvaughn Funchess. According to the agreement, Wade paid $5 million to Funchess on top of giving her their Chicago home and four cars. In exchange, Siohvaughn signed a non-disparagement clause that kept her from further smearing Dwyane Wade or Gabrielle Union in the press.

After all these years have passed, it seems odd that Siohvaughn would want to change or redo her divorce settlement, but she is set on making some changes. Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife and former childhood sweetheart claims that her former lawyer, Brian Hurst, misrepresented the Dwyane Wade divorce settlement deal to her, and she wasn’t aware of what she was signing.

Siohvaughn’s claims about her former lawyer aren’t new. She actually filed a lawsuit against Hurst last year and claims that much of the divorce negotiation took place while she wasn’t even in the room. She also claims that Hurst told Dwyane Wade and his lawyers that she had agreed to the divorce deal before she even knew what had been added to it.

On Friday, Cook County judge Martin Agran tossed out the lawsuit that Siohvaughn Funches filed. However, she can still file an amended lawsuit, and her new lawyer says that is what they intend to do.

Chances of Siohvaughn Funches being awarded any part of Dwyane Wade’s new $47 million deal with the Chicago Bulls are pretty slim. The NBA star has been divorced from Funches for years and has even since remarried Gabrielle Union. Do you think Funches has any grounds to take Wade back to court?
