‘Bates Motel’: Cast Headed To Comic Con 2016, Season 5 Spoilers

Great news, Bates Motel fans! Several cast members are headed to Comic Con 2016, which takes place in beautiful San Diego. Rumor has it, the event is the best place to get the scoop on the show’s Season 5 spoilers. Even better, there’s still time to pack your bags and make a reservation. Pun intended!

According to this year’s official Comic Con schedule, the much-anticipated Bates Motel panel convenes on July 22 at 3:30 p.m. Not only do executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin get the chance to reveal spoilers from the upcoming season, fans get the opportunity to meet Freddie Highmore (Norman), Vera Farmiga (Norma), Nestor Carbonell (Sheriff Romero), and Max Thieriot (Dylan). How cool is that? Now, on to a spoiler or two.

Design & Trend recently indicated that fans will be introduced to Dylan’s “funnier side” in Season 5 of Bates Motel. As difficult as it might seem to entwine a humorous storyline into a show like this one, it’s entirely possible.

Seemingly, some of the decision to veer off into this direction is based on the real-life fact that Max Thieriot is a hilarious human being. Producers want fans to see some of Max’s hilarity before Bates Motel comes to its inevitable end. Executive producer Carlton Cuse hinted about Dylan’s humor in the following statement. Who knew?

“Sometimes in television you have to write a little bit protectively for actors, shining a light on their strengths and avoiding the things that they don’t do well. But every single person in our cast can do really great drama, but they’re all also really funny. In fact, I think we’ve never actually fully seen the comic potential of Max Thieriot’s character. In person, he is so freaking funny “

Speaking of Dylan, Season 5 of Bates Motel promises to give viewers a more intimate look into his new and exciting life with Emma. If you recall, at the end of Season 4, the new couple left White Pine Bay to start their new life in Seattle. Unfortunately, the fact that neither one of them are aware that their respective mothers are dead is sure to put a damper on things.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Marion Crane is slated to make a spur-of-the-moment stop at Bates Motel next season. Cuse confirmed the fact that Marion will appear in multiple episodes. However, at this point, the specific number isn’t certain. He had this to say about Marion’s return and her probable doom.

“We wanted the final season to allow us to do our version of the Psycho lore. We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate Psycho.”

If you’ve ever watched Psycho, you probably remember the famous shower scene and its musical accompaniment. It’s a classic among classics, don’t you think? Interesting to note, Jamie Lee Curtis is being considered to play the upcoming role of Marion Crane. Her look-alike mother, Janet Leigh, was cast in the original production of the movie.

What are your thoughts regarding Season 5 of Bates Motel? Who do you think is going to survive the final season? If you just can’t get enough of Norman and his downward spiral into madness, how you plan to fill the void after the hotel is closed for good?
