Teresa Giudice & The Rest Of The ‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Stars Return To Bravo Tonight After Nearly 22 Months Off The Air

Teresa Giudice and the rest of the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars return to Bravo tonight after nearly 22 months off the air. Season 7 of the Real Housewives franchise will premiere tonight, July 10, at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The show’s last original episode aired in October of 2014. If you want to get technical, it has been 607 days. The series took a major off-air break mainly due to the fact that one of their star housewives, Teresa Giudice, was in prison.

Fans of the show are more than excited for the hit reality series to return.

Bravo’s Brandy Howard and Julie Goldman of “The People’s Couch” will be hosting a Facebook live stream at Real Housewives cast member Melissa Gorga’s house where they will be watching the episode along with fans. At 9 p.m., Gorga and co-star Teresa Giudice will join them for an aftershow and will take fans’ questions. You can watch it on the RHONJ Facebook page and on Bravotv.com. (Veteran RHONJ recapper Vicki Hyman will also be tweeting the episode live here.)

Real Housewives of New Jersey OG Teresa and Jacqueline Laurita are back this season. Jacqueline had originally been cut from Season 6. Teresa’s sister-in-law Melissa, a cast member since Season 3, will also return. New this season is Dolores Catania, a longtime friend of Teresa and a divorcee who lives in North Haledon, and Siggy Flicker, a matchmaker and relationship expert who is married to her second husband and who lives in Tenafly.

Kathy Wakile and Rosie Pierri, Teresa’s cousins, have “friends of housewives” status and will be featured on Season 7. However, Season 6 cast members Amber Marchese and trouble making twins Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea have not been asked to return to the show this year.

Viewers will also get a chance to check back in with Ashlee Holmes, Laurita’s affianced and pregnant daughter this season.

Bravo cameras were obviously on sight to film the moment when Teresa returned in December from serving nearly a year in federal prison for bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud and mail fraud. The cameras were also there to catch the family’s sad goodbye when Teresa’s husband, Joe, left to serve his 41-month sentence for the same charges in March.

The episode’s central story, though, involves Giudice’s return to her family and their Towaco home after her release from Danbury Federal Correctional Institution.

“Seeing Joe and the kids at home preparing for me to come home was difficult for me to watch. It brought back many feelings… It was obviously one of the happiest moments of my life. I could just cry right now thinking about it, that’s why it’s hard for me to see it.”

Bravo doesn’t give away a ton of hints about where the drama is headed this season, but teasers seem to hint that there will be trouble for Teresa and Jacqueline’s friendship and Teresa also seems to clash with cousins Kathy and Rosie.

In previous seasons, family drama between the Giudices, Gorgas, and Wakiles seemed to be the front and center storyline for the show. Viewers have watched siblings Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga attempt to make amends numerous times. However, Teresa has suggested to viewers that this season will be different. Maybe those months in jail made her realize how important family is.

“I don’t like the whole fighting with the family thing, because that’s not what my family’s really about. But this season reminded me of season one, when I first started the show. There were bittersweet moments about it also … But overall, I enjoyed doing this season.”

Teresa has also expressed her excitement about the new cast members this season. She, for one, will definitely not be missing the Amber and the twins.

“Siggy I just met through this show and she’s a ball of fire, and she’s lots of fun. She makes me laugh and she says I make her laugh. And I go way back with Dolores … She could basically finish my sentences.”

Tune in tonight at 8 p.m. on Bravo to see the premier episode as Teresa and the rest of The Real Housewives cast return to stir up some Jersey drama.
