iPhone 8 Leaks, New iPhone 7 Features Reported

New leaks are reportedly showing details of the iPhone 8 while new features of the iPhone 7 are coming to the surface as well.

According to two separate reports by Forbes, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 7 leaks show amazing new features coming to the latest models, expected to be released in 2017 and late 2016 respectively.

In the report on the iPhone 7 features, leaks reported by Forbes detail what writer Gordon Kelly termed “important late upgrades” in his headline.

The most talked about in recent months includes the possibility that the iPhone will feature a wireless charging capability in the new iPhone 7 device. The leak has another important feature that has been rumored for months, but Forbes says it has the inside scoop.

“Aside from the specs we already know, the big news is IP68 water resistance (which means the phone can be fully submerged in water for up to 30 minutes) and wireless charging,” Kelly reported.

So how was Forbes able to get its hands on this important leak about the iPhone 7? It apparently comes from a Chinese blog that has connections to Apple’s foreign suppliers. The Chinese-language blog was able to get its hands on iPhone 7 marketing images that it has now leaked onto the web.

“Chinese site Mydrivers (which famously nailed the iPhone SE in January) is the source of the news, posting what it claims is a key slide from an internal Foxconn presentation of the iPhone 7 to top management. Foxconn is Apple’s biggest manufacturing partner and – with the launch just two months away – the timing fits.”

In another Forbes report, leaks about the rumored iPhone 8 seem to detail what will be welcome design changes for the device in 2017. According to Forbes contributor Ewan Spence, the new iPhone 8 will feature curved glass similar to what has been seen on Samsung Galaxy devices as of late.

While full details are not available, Forbes reported that Apple has been working on the improvement for some time.

“The biggest visual change for the iPhone 8, expected in 2017, is the curved all-glass construction of the device that will be seen as the tenth anniversary iPhone. Curved glass sounds easy (after all, Samsung managed it for the Note Edge in 2014) but there’s a lot more to consider,” Spence wrote.

He goes on to quote a report that notes the costs involved with curved glass design. Put simply – it costs a lot to design a phone that has curved glass and in a market where cost can drive business, increasing costs may not always be in the best interest of the company even if the design is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and to the hand.

With all the talk of new features on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 leaking on the Internet, many have taken to their blogs and websites to urge Apple to make the rumored and leaked features available to all iPhone users, not just those who shell out the big bucks for the bigger “Plus” devices.

One such website urging equality in devices is Mashable, which recently wrote a post begging Apple to remember the little guys who may just be buying the “little” phones (i.e. the iPhone 7 instead of the iPhone 7 Plus).

“Whatever Apple decides, the Plus model is going to have a superior camera to smaller iPhone just because of that extra camera lens, creating a scenario of: Bigger really is better,” the site reported before adding, “And that’s not all. Apple could also make the new all-but-confirmed 256GB storage feature exclusive to the larger iPhone, too.”

All-in-all, the leaks about the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 8 make it seem like big changes are coming. The only question is will these big changes be exclusive to the larger and more expensive versions of the Apple devices?
