UFC 200 News: Brock Lesnar vs. Mark Hunt Preview — Lesnar, ‘It’s No Bull****’ [Video]

UFC 200 airs live on pay-per-view Saturday night from Las Vegas, Nevada, at 9 p.m. EST, and many are focused on Brock Lesnar versus Mark Hunt. The main event was originally scheduled for Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier to defend his title against Jon Jones. Since that announcement Jones has been bumped from the contest, as the Washington Post reported, because of a “potential failed drug test.”

The main event is now for the women’s bantamweight championship, as defending champion Miesha Tate takes on the challenger Amanda Nunes, in what should be an exciting contest.

But ever since it was announced that Brock would be returning, all eyes are on him. As the Inquisitr reported, Brock Lesnar is making UFC and WWE history; he is the first active WWE professional wrestler to perform for both companies. At UFC 100, Brock Lesnar devoured Frank Mir and the pay-per-view raked in a buyrate of 1.6 million, making Lesnar the biggest draw in the company’s history. So when it was announced that Lesnar would be returning to the Octagon, the internet erupted. Even the WWE is tweeting about it and they officially covered the weigh-in.

It’s been almost five years since “The Beast” has competed in the cage, and at the UFC 200 press conference it was clear that Brock Lesnar was excited. When asked if he has to have a victory to feel like he accomplished his goals, Brock Lesnar explained his mindset.

“Obviously I’m here to win a fight—but—it’s fighting and anything can happen. But I’m prepared for whatever; I don’t think it’s going to define me. I’m just happy to be here, I really am, it’s no bull****. This is exciting—I’m on the card at UFC 200.”

Brock Lesnar’s stint in the UFC lasted for only three years; in that stretch he became a two-time heavyweight champion and finished his MMA career with a record of 5-3-0. MMA competitors, like the legendary Randy Couture, quickly found out that not only is Lesnar’s mat technique strong, but his XXXXL gloved-sized fists are as well. No one is perhaps more prepared for “The Beast” than the “Super Samoan” Mark Hunt.

Mark Hunt’s MMA record is 12-10-1 and he is currently ranked number 8 in the UFC heavyweight division. Hunt is one of the best kickboxers in the UFC. He is known for his cunning striking ability and often defeats opponents with a one-shot knockout. Many are predicting that Mark Hunt will knock out Brock Lesnar in the first round of this five-round contest; currently, Vegas odds has Hunt as the -175 favorite.

But the UFC has never seen a healthy Brock Lesnar. As CBS reported, when Lesnar was previously in the UFC, he says that it wasn’t his opponents who beat him, but rather, diverticulitis.

“At the top of my career, I wasn’t at the top of my game. So I felt I was cheated out of my career at UFC. In my mind, I never lost to a foe, never lost to an opponent. It was the diverticulitis that beat me…. My performance was due to the illness — absolutely, yes. Sitting here today, I feel 1,000 percent.”

If the competitors stay on their feet, then the clear advantage goes to Hunt. However, if Lesnar gets Hunt on the ground, then it could mean lights out for the “Super Samoan.” Brock Lesnar has transcended the sport of professional wrestling and MMA; fans tune in to watch him and often couldn’t care less about the rest of the card. At UFC 200, Mark Hunt will step into the cage with an NCAA Division I heavyweight champion, and a former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar has proven time and time again that when he’s focused on a goal, he accomplishes it.
