Free DLC For ‘Battlefield Hardline’; ‘Battlefield 4’ Tops Overwatch In PS4 Sales

Battlefield is hot and sizzling this past month, with Battlefield Hardline’s Betrayal DLCs free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC; and Battlefield 4 toppling Overwatch this month on the PS4.

Released in March 2015, Battlefield Hardline continues to be a favorite in the first-person shooter genre. Published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Battlefield Hardline continues to become a delight to fans with EA DICE’ various offerings and promotions.

If you’ve exhausted the nooks and crannies of Battlefield Hardline, then you can now waste more time on the battlefield with its Betrayal DLC, free right now on Origin, PSN, and Xbox Live. The Betrayal DLC for Battlefield Hardline was just released last March 2016 but four months into its release, we’re already getting it free! Usually, you need to shell out $15 to get all the goodies of the Betrayal DLC for Battlefield Hardline. But from this day til July 12, you can get your hands on the full DLC at no cost at all.

Betrayal was the fifth DLC released for Battlefield Hardline. Take note, to be able to get Battlefield Hardline Betrayal for free on the Xbox, you need to be an Xbox Live Gold member. Those on the PC, however, can already get the DLC for free, no questions asked. As of writing, access to the PlayStation Store portal of the Battlefield Hardline Betrayal DLC is still unavailable. Free access to the Betrayal DLC is the first leg of promotions to build up for the Battlefield 1 release.

The Betrayal DLC forBattlefield Hardline comes with new achievements and trophies for the collectors, new assignments, camo (with the ability to customize up to 16 unique uniforms), vehicle paints, Gun Range feature (used to test weapons) and the Gun Bench (for weapon and uniform customization). Four new maps are also included in the Battlefield Hardline Betrayal DLC: Alcatraz, Cemetery, Chinatown, and Thin Ice. Exciting new weapons like the M4 Shotgun and Mammoth Gun are included, plus new gadgets (Inquisition Sword, Karambit, Cleaver, Devil’s Toothpick, and Shovel) and new vehicles (Snowmobile and Hearse) become available on your Battlefield Hardline gameplay.

Also a great way to build momentum for Battlefied 1 is the announcement that almost-three-year-old title Battlefield 4 has knocked down Overwatch on the month of June’s best-selling title on the PlayStation 4. PlayStation Lifestyle reports that Battlefield 4 has topped US and European PlayStation 4 title sales for June. It also came in at No. 1 among PlayStation 3 titles downloaded in Europe.

In fact, not only was it Battlefield 4 that raked in great sales for the past month. Battlefield Hardline did not do so badly either, placing right on the first three positions in PlayStation 4 sales.

With Overwatch’ success last month, it’s a wonder an older title like Battlefield4 was able to rake so many downloads! We believe that the recently concluded sale that dropped the price of Battlefield 4 to a meager $5 enormously encouraged PlayStation 4 users to get a copy of the title if they still hadn’t. Battlefield Hardline also dropped to a low $4.79.
