‘Attack On Titan’ Game For PS4, PS3, Vita, & Xbox One To Feature Online Multiplayer Mode

With the US and European release of Attack on Titan game already on the horizon, KOEI Tecmo unleashed details about the game’s online multiplayer mode. As reported by GameSpot, Koei Tecmo announced yesterday that Scout Mode will let up to four players co-op game as they venture out of the city walls to battle against the Titans described as “mysterious giants that feast on humans.”

The team leader can choose from different missions that are entirely separate from the campaign. These missions, tackling the backstory of the Titans, will be available across several game stages such as Farm Village, Ruined Town, and Forest of the Giant Trees, explained PlayStation Lifestyle. The Scout Mode for Attack on Titan also lets the players change costumes, upgrade gears, and prepare for every fight.

GameRanx noted that after killing titans, gamers can pick up items useful to upgrade their Omni-Directional Mobility Gear, blades and scabbard. “Essentially, players can improve anchors, the distance of which they can attach themselves to a titan, along with their Omni-Directional Mobility Gear speed,” the post expounded.

According to Anime News Network, the Attack on Titangame’s US release is set for August 30. In addition to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita versions that hit the shelves in Japan in February, the game will also have its Xbox One and PC via Steam iterations. Disc copies for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Attack on Titan will be released by KOEI Tecmo. AOT fans can only expect digital copies of the game’s PS3, PS Vita, and PC versions.

Pre-orders made in the US, particularly from retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop include bonus downloadable contents like cleaning weapons. Eren’s and Levi’s costumes and a festival outfit for Mikasa will also be received by those who pre-ordered Attack on Titan on aforementioned stores. Meanwhile, digital pre-orders made through the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store come with free AOT avatars.

The game’s European launch is set to happen earlier, on August 26 specifically, and it will have A.O.T: Wings of Freedom as its official title in the region. A limited edition called Treasure Box will be released in Europe, which includes Attack on Titan’s soundtrack, an artbook, six pin badges, and a muffler towel. This special edition also brings in a DLC for Armin’s outfit used in Attack on Titan: Junior High, the report on Anime News Network added.

Four new preview videos for Attack on Titan were released by KOEI Tecmo. Three of these videos put the spotlight to three major characters of the game, namely Levi, Erwin and Hange. The video below showcases Levi Ackerman, often called Captain Levi, one of the most famous AOT characters.

Moreover, the fourth video recently released by game publisher shows how to unleash the Decisive Battle Signal. Siliconera’s post, further explaining this game feature, read:

“The Decisive Battle Signal can be set off after filling a Decisive Battle Meter by rescuing Survey Corps members. It summons every ally in the area to the player’s side for a huge attack, during which attack is raised, blades won’t wear out, and Omni-Directional Mobility Gear gas won’t be used.”

Meanwhile, the French version of Attack on Titan is playable at the Japan Expo in Paris. The festival is happening today, July 7 until July 10, at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center, according to the event’s official website.
