‘The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition’ Releasing In September, Includes All Current Major DLC

Players can travel to familiar locations like Skyrim, revisit the Gold Coast, or discover Orsinium in The Elder Scrolls Online. The massively multiplayer game offers plenty of iconic areas and those never seen before in an Elder Scrolls game thanks to the grand scale of the MMO title. Luckily, the buy-to-play game is about to become much more accessible for those that have yet to jump into the world of Tamriel.

Bethesda announced today that The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition is releasing in September. The $60 game, releasing on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, includes the base Elder Scrolls Online in addition to the four currently available major pieces of downloadable content. Players that purchase The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition will gain access to the Imperial City, the Orsinium, the Thieves Guild, and the Dark Brotherhood DLCs. The upcoming dungeon DLC, Shadows of the Hist, is not part of the upcoming release.

As noted on the official site, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition also includes a Palomino horse mount and 500 Crowns for use in the game’s Crown Store. Since purchasers will own the listed pieces of DLC, they will always be available regardless of subscription status. After all, a subscription is not required to play The Elder Scrolls Online; however, a subscription does include access to all DLCs without needing to purchase them separately. The new Gold Edition is the perfect way to pick up the DLCs at a discount for those looking to experience all the game has to offer without ever subscribing.

As previously mentioned, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition does not include the Shadows of the Hist downloadable content. The dungeon DLC adds two new Argonian dungeons in both normal and veteran modes. Players can find new sets, new achievements, and even new appearance rewards for tackling these dungeons. Shadows of the Hist will be available on August 1 for PC players with an August 16 release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players.

Alongside the release of Shadows of the Hist, new appearance customization options will be available with update 11. The Style Parlor is coming to The Elder Scrolls Online Crown Store with new markings, adornments, hair styles, and more. Appearance-related services like race changes, appearance changes, and name changes will also be available for purchase in the Crown Store. As the Inquisitr reported, customization options purchased from the Crown Store are stored in players’ appearance collections, giving them access to the options whenever they want to use them.

Of course, those new features are still weeks away from release. Players of The Elder Scrolls Online can check out the new Crown Store offerings coming to the game throughout this month in the meantime. Four new costumes, a new mount, and two new pets are expected to release this month. According to the official site, new offerings include items such as the Priest of the Green costume, the Doom Wolf mount, and the Colovian Badger. It is also important to note that even these new costumes can be dyed after update 11 releases. Also, a number of items are leaving the Crown Store on August 1. Be sure to pick up items such as the Toxin Doctor costume, the Banded Guar Charger, and the Baby Netch before they are no longer available.

Battle leveling already occurs in DLC areas like Abah’s Landing [Image via Bethesda]
In addition to the new edition of The Elder Scrolls Online and its other new features, a whole new way to play the game is coming this fall. Soon, battle leveling will occur everywhere in the world of The Elder Scrolls Online as confirmed on the Bethesda website. This will let players of any level or any faction play together in the open world earning experience and gear for their natural level. The update, called One Tamriel, is coming soon to The Elder Scrolls Online with an estimated release date in the fall.
