Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck Undecided Over Divorce, Insider Reveals

What is the real story with Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck? There is endless chatter that the pair are not getting a divorce since they spend so much time together. They were spotted over the July Fourth weekend looking quite happy. Photos emerged of the couple smiling and not appearing as an estranged couple by any means.

An insider tells People that the couple is “still figuring things out,” and that considering Ben does not want a divorce, “he might actually get his way.”

After 10 years of marriage, Jennifer and Ben announced their plans to split in June 2015. News of this came after it was alleged Affleck was having an affair with their children’s nanny, Christine Ouzounian.

Jennifer and Ben have kept up appearances for the sake of their kids — Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4 — for the duration of the past year. They have gone on several family vacations over weekend holidays and moved to London for several weeks. They share a rented home, live in the same estate, and have gone sightseeing in Europe while Ben filmed Justice League.

“She had the best time in Europe with Ben and the kids,” says Jennifer’s friend. “She seemed much happier when she returned to L.A. Jen went from being very adamant that a divorce would happen to instead avoiding any divorce talk.”

The couple took their kids to a Fourth of July parade in Los Angeles over the weekend. A few other sources weighed in on the speculations regarding the status of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s marriage.

“There is no rush to file [for divorce]. They are enjoying life where they are right now,” another source said to be close to the couple claims.

“Nothing has changed [in their relationship],” another source dishes to People. “They’re still all about putting the kids first.”

A separate People report had sources telling the magazine that Jennifer denies reconciliation rumors but is fine with not making their split official.

Those reported as being “close to the couple” continue to say that Ben and Jennifer have a mutual respect for one another and it will always be about “putting the kids first.”

A Radar Online report from last week was verified as being false when the tabloid site alleged an interview with Jennifer’s father, Bill Garner, leaked that his daughter was back together with Ben. The interview was regarding the West Virginia flooding devastation. The only truth to the whole report dealt mostly with a direct question regarding Mr. Garner’s daughter’s situation.

“I would prefer not to comment on her plans. Any news will come from her and not from us,” Mr. Garner told Radar.

Other quotes used had to do with Mr. Garner praising both of his daughters and that they have their heads “screwed on pretty well.” What this had to do with Jennifer reconciling with Ben is anyone’s guess.

Unless the couple make an “announcement” that they plan to stay married or get divorced, rumors will persist. It is evident that they are making things work the way they are. Some couples are happier and get along better when expectations on each other are scaled back. This could be the case for Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, but that is based on pure theory. If they are happy this way and enjoy family time with their children as married parents, it could stay this way for years.
