Kaley Cuoco Flag: Actress Slammed After ‘Disrespectful’ Fourth Of July Photo, Apologizes

Kaley Cuoco posted an offensive flag photo on the Fourth of July that angered thousands of her fans. The Big Bang Theory actress shared a picture of her four dogs getting into the red, white, and blue spirit, all dressed up and ready to celebrate (or hide under the bed when those fireworks started going off). While people love to see Kaley Cuoco’s dogs (she frequently shares pics of her pets on Instagram), this picture angered a lot of people — and you can probably understand why.

Looking at the picture on first glance you might think, “aw, puppies,” but looking a little closer you will likely notice that one of her dogs is sitting on the American flag — and it’s not a towel. People were quick to point out how wrong Kaley was for putting the flag on the ground and for having her dog sit on it. Some of the comments were on the nicer side while others were hate-filled.

Kaley Cuoco has since deleted the picture but it has been passed around on Twitter enough times that it’s fairly easily found.

Kaley Cuoco didn’t take the flag photo down straight away, however. Her fans kept commenting on the picture, surprised that Kaley thought it was appropriate and didn’t realize just how disrespectful it was to put the American flag on the ground — and have a dog on top of it. Fans wrote how disappointed they were in Kaley’s judgment, and many told her that she would need to have the flag burned.

Many people believe that the Star-Spangled Banner must be burned if it touches the ground, but that’s not actually the case. According to the American Legion, as long as the flag isn’t dirty, it doesn’t need to be destroyed. Some would say, however, that since Kaley Cuoco’s dog was sitting on it, the flag should be properly disposed of.

“Care should be exercised in the handling of the flag, to protect it from becoming soiled or damaged. However, you are not required to destroy the flag if it touches the ground. As long as the flag remains suitable for display, even if washing or dry-cleaning (which is an acceptable practice) is required, the flag may continue to be displayed.”

After several hours, Kaley Cuoco deleted the photo and has since issued an apology. Check it out below.

Kaley Cuoco’s flag apology was met with mixed emotions. For the most part, however, Kaley’s fans were quick to show their love and support for her, with some even saying that she didn’t need to apologize because there was “nothing wrong” with the picture. It was a far cry from the comments that she received on the original post.

“I got to see a snapshot of the picture and I thought it was adorable,” said one Instagram user.

“You have nothing to worry about. Some people are over sensitive. If all people were judged on one mistake,” added another.

“People should get a life..nothing was wrong with that pic,” said a third.

Do you think Kaley Cuoco’s apology for the flag photo was warranted? Do you think that she made the right move by taking the picture down?
