‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Philip Leaving Salem As John-Paul Lavoisier Exits
Days of Our Lives fans are losing yet another character. Actor John-Paul Lavoisier is exiting the role of Philip Kiriakis after less than a year on the soap.
According to Soap Opera Digest, it has been confirmed that John-Paul Lavoiser will last appear as Philip Kiriakis later this year, after only joining the soap in late 2015.
Philip leaving DOOL isn’t a huge surprise to fans, as the character hasn’t had much of a storyline since returning. Other than his shady dealings with his uncle Deimos, Philip has mostly just been a barrier that kept Shawn and Belle from reuniting sooner than they did. Poor Philip didn’t stand a chance with Belle, as Shawn has always been, and will always be, her soul mate.
The latest Days of Our Lives character departure comes after many other actors have been announced that they’re leaving the soap.
Kate Mansi recently left the role of Abigail Deveraux-DiMera, but has already been recast with Marci Miller, who will begin airing in the fall. The loss was huge for DOOL fans, who had grown to love the actress and the character.
However, Days of Our Lives fans are still reeling from the most shocking departure news. Jen Lilley, who plays Theresa Donovan on the soap, is also exiting. Lilley announced her departure via her social media pages and promised that fans will have a good storyline leading up to Theresa’s exit.
Days of Our Lives viewers’ heads are spinning as it seems that news of characters leaving Salem is coming in left and right. With all the departures, which characters will the soap be focusing on moving forward?
It seems likely that Brady and Theresa will have a huge storyline leading up to Jen Lilley’s exit and that Chad will get a lot of screen time as he searches for his missing wife Abigail, who will also likely be a main focus once Marci Miller begins airing in the role.
Days of Our Lives viewers can also expect some of the classic fan favorite couples to step into the spotlight. Steve and Kayla will likely have a romantic reunion and possibly even get re-married in the near future. While actress Deidre Hall, who plays Dr. Marlena Evans, and her longtime love John Black, played by Drake Hogestyn, will also have some romantic moments in store.
As Days of Our Lives fans watch Hope and Aiden continue to try to rekindle their relationship, there is still the possibility that Hope’s love for Rafe Hernandez will overcome the situation and the two will end up together. A Hope and Rafe romance seems to be what many of the fans want, but they may have to wait until her reunion with Aiden plays out.
One DOOL couple who will be taking the next step into marriage is Lucas and Adrienne. The couple, who haven’t been getting much screen time as of late, will be seen walking down the aisle. However, with Sonny, and possibly Justin, protesting the wedding, it seems that the nuptials could be interrupted by one of the men in Adrienne’s life.
