Washington Dad Beat 2-Year-Old Almost To Death Because ‘He Had To Get The Evil Out Of Her’

A dad in Vancouver, Washington beat his 2-year-old daughter almost to death on June 28. The horrific incident happened at the Sunnyside Motel late in the evening, and it resulted in the Washington dad being charged with attempted murder the next morning. It all started when the dad attacked his daughter while she and her mother lay sleeping in the motel. As KOIN reports, the Washington man, Kyle Stephen Holder, entered the motel room where he was staying with the child and her mother, grabbed the toddler, and threw her out of the room’s open window to the cement walkway below.

The Washington dad continued to beat and abuse his daughter after throwing the 2-year-old from the motel window, according to police and eyewitness accounts. The child’s horrified mother reported to authorities that after the Washington dad threw the child out the window, he followed her outside and continued to beat her.

Reportedly, when he got outside, he picked up the tiny child and proceeded to throw her “to the ground multiple times.”

While the Washington dad continued to beat the child, others in the motel were alerted to the unfathomable situation by the mother’s screaming. One fellow motel guest, Don Gilbert, said that he came upon the horrific scene and proceeded to intervene to attempt to end the beating and save the little girl’s life. While the Washington dad continued to beat his child, “stomping on her head with his foot” as she was face-down on the concrete, Gilbert grabbed a baseball bat from behind his motel room door.

He then got between the Washington dad and his young victim, hitting Holder repeatedly in the head until he could no longer continue to beat the child.

“I reached behind the door and got my baseball bat, chased him out in the street, hit him once in the back. He had the baby by the feet, took her to the curb and just slammed her down, that’s when I cracked him in the skull.”

Law enforcement eventually made it to the scene, transporting the critically injured child to the hospital. The Washington dad was so out of control that he had to be tased by law enforcement. He was also taken to the hospital to be treated for his head injury before being arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is currently being held on $1 million bail.

So, why did he do it? What could possess this Washington dad to brutally beat his own daughter? During his transport to the hospital, he reportedly told the arresting deputy that he didn’t want to kill her, but he had to.

“I did not want to kill her, but I had to. I had to do this, I knew I had to crush her head. I had to hit her in the head and stomp her.”

According to the witness who cracked the Washington dad in the skull as he beat his daughter, Holder had been “acting strange all day.” Not only that, police had already been to the motel earlier in the afternoon because of his bizarre, erratic behavior, reports KHOU.

“He’d been acting weird all day, preaching to God and all this weird stuff.”

The witness to the toddler’s brutal beating said that he’d been at the same motel as the Washington dad for about two weeks and that Holder hadn’t behaved oddly until the Tuesday that he beat his daughter.

“He was just babbling about how God is coming for everyone and he has to get the evil out of the daughter. He kept coming every time I moved between him and the baby. He’d charge me and I’d swing the bat.”

The little girl suffered severe injuries in the attack, and so far her prognosis is unknown. Don Gilbert will not be facing charges for hitting the Washington dad repeatedly with his bat so that he could no longer beat his child to “get the evil out” of her.
