‘Teen Mom 2’ Cancellation– Will This Show Be Canceled Or Renewed?
Teen Mom 2 is still being talked about despite Season 7 ending a few weeks ago. It was a chaotic season filled with plenty of drama and shocking revelations. Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin shared their miscarriage experience and their marriage falling apart has played out in the media, Jenelle Evans beat a domestic violence charge and moved in a new boyfriend, Leah Messer lost and regained custody of her twin daughters, and Chelsea Houska got engaged and began planning her dream wedding. Through it all, the Teen Mom 2 girls remained strong and focused on tackling life’s challenges.
Rumors have been circulating about the fate of Teen Mom 2 for several years now. According to Starcasm, Teen Mom 2 is not going to be canceled anytime soon. While the live viewing numbers have declined since it initially began airing, the weekly numbers are up dramatically. People are watching the show via their DVR or using their “on demand” feature through their television companies. When reruns of Teen Mom 2 air, viewers tune in for them as well. As long as the stars want to keep putting their life out there, the show will continue to go on.

Season 8 of Teen Mom 2 has already been confirmed. It will likely air sometime later this fall or winter. Chelsea Houska decided to opt out of filming her October wedding for the show. MTV wanted to pay for the entire thing if she would sign a release for them to film, but Houska held strong and decided to keep the moment incredibly private. Teen Mom 2 viewers were disappointed to hear they would not be able to see the wedding, but they were promised photos to show.
A lot has changed for the Teen Mom 2 ladies and the dads. Chelsea Houska is coming back for another season alongside her soon-to-be husband, Cole DeBoer. Adam Lind has decided he wants off of the show but it has yet to be confirmed that he walked away. Leah Messer and Corey Simms will remain on the show, but Jeremy Calvert has also voiced his distaste for the show and has said he intends to walk away. Again, his involvement with the show has not been confirmed. Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith are both on board for Season 8 as is Kailyn Lowry. Javi Marroquin is just arriving home from deployment making his status with Teen Mom 2 unknown.

Adam Lind isn’t exactly known for being the rule-following type. Earlier this year he revealed the Teen Mom 2 salaries for the moms, but it is assumed the dads aren’t being paid much less. Chelsea Houska makes $250,000 per season, with two seasons being filmed a year at times. That is a lot of money for these young women to live without, which is why many of them keep signing up year after year. Teen Mom 2 has changed their lives and has provided a substantial amount of money for their kids’ college education. Each child who films Teen Mom 2 also draws a salary which is usually put into a bank account for them.
There is plenty to look forward to from Season 8 of Teen Mom 2. Chelsea Houska will be planning her wedding and sharing portions of that, Kailyn Lowry will be making difficult relationship decisions, Jenelle Evans may be pregnant again, and Leah Messer has bought her first house. The Teen Mom 2 girls have changed so much since filming 16 & Pregnant, it is amazing. At least one more season will be seen before MTV reevaluates the value of Teen Mom 2, but fans expect it to go even longer as long as the girls continue to better their lives and keep up with the drama.
