Terrorist Attack At U.S. Consulate In Saudi Arabia [Breaking]


According to breaking news by USA Today, less than an hour ago, a suicide bomber outside of the United States Consulate in Saudi Arabia was shot dead by Saudi Arabian security of forces, as reported by local Saudi Arabia news outlets.

The attacker was killed in an attempt to detonate himself as the Americans began their Fourth of July celebration. According to these breaking reports, two police officers were injured during the attack.

According to the breaking news reports by USA Today, the suicide bomber actually carried out an attack near the U.S. Consulate in Jeddeh. Apparently, his attempt to cause mass damage was unsuccessful, though, two law enforcement officers were injured in the attack.

The attacker was reportedly the only one killed in the blast. And officials were unavailable for comment immediately after the news of the incident became public, nor could the U.S. Embassy officials in Saudi Arabia or those at the Interior Ministry be reached for more information.

The attacker was reportedly heading toward a mosque next to the consular service when he was detained by police. Currently, the area has been closed off by the security forces on scene. No specific terrorist group has thus far claimed responsibility for the attack and no additional information is yet available, but we will continue to investigate the report.
