Tropical Storm Felicia Still On Course For Hawaii

hurricane-felicia

Hilo, Hawaii (AHN) – Tropical Storm Felicia remains on course to make landfall on the Hawaiian islands early Tuesday morning. After swelling to a dangerous Category 4 hurricane last week, colder Pacific Ocean water weakened Felicia as it heads west.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC) reports the eye of the storm is 395 east of Hilo, Hawaii and about 560 miles east of Honolulu.

Felicia is moving at around 10 miles per hour, which will bring the outer bands of rain to the island chain by Monday night.

There is a Tropical Storm Watch in effect for Oahu and much of Maui. The islands are expecting heavy rains, and meteorologists warn flash floods could also strike.
