Chumlee Update: ‘Pawn Stars’ Favorite Gives First Interview Since March Arrest

Pawn Stars favorite Austin Russell, aka Chumlee, recently gave his first interview since his March 2016 arrest. According to Las Vegas’ Channel 3 News, Chumlee is back at Gold and Silver Pawn Shop doing what he loves. No one really knows who’s happier, Chumlee himself or his ever-growing number of fans.

In an exclusive interview, Chumlee had this to say to one of the station’s reporters Gerald Ramalgo. He expressed both humility and regret regarding his unfortunate arrest.

“From the bottom of my heart, I’m so thankful and grateful to have fans. You know we always have to live with the choices we’ve made. Even more so, we have to learn from the choices we make.”

Russell continued by saying.

“I’m moving on. I don’t want to dwell on the past. You know I’m here and I’m just learning from my mistakes. And I’m happy to be in a situation where I can move forward and I can still work every day, just good to be back to normal life doing what I know.”

Chumlee has been spending time at the pawn shop taking pictures with fans and signing autographs. He’s also taking a more active role in assisting with fundraising duties for some of the charities Pawn Stars supports. The first organization Russell will be working with is the Epilepsy Foundation. Apparently, it’s an organization Rick and his employees have been associated with for a while.

As recently reported by the Inquisitr, Chumlee has seemingly been taking a greater interest in Las Vegas nightlife. At one point, there was talk of him providing DJ services for the Oakland Raiders, should the team relocate to the area. Apparently, he wanted the gig so bad, he offered to do it free of charge.

Russell’s love of Las Vegas is certainly no secret. He loves the city almost as much as he loves collecting shoes and other types of memorabilia. If you live in or are planning a trip to the area, you never know where you might run into the Pawn Stars favorite.

For example, there’s Undefeated Las Vegas. This little boutique, located in close proximity to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, sells its own brand of clothing and limited sneakers. If you know anything about Chumlee, his love of the shop needs no explanation.

Another one of his favorite hotspots is the shop where he gets his tattoo work done. If you’re ever in the vicinity of Showroom Tattoo, you may just encounter Chumlee getting new body art done. One of his all-time favorite tattoos is located on his leg… a Samurai warrior walking down a tiger. Since the shop is usually extremely busy, Chumlee suggests making an appointment ahead of time so you don’t have to go elsewhere.

Even though Chumlee is back to work at his beloved pawn shop, there has been no official word as to whether or not he’ll return to Pawn Stars next season. However, since things seem to be looking up for Austin Russell, there’s no reason to give up hope.

Are you one of Chumlee’s biggest fans? Are you glad to see that he’s finally back working behind the counter at Gold and Silver Pawn Shop? Feel free to leave your comments about the Pawn Stars favorite below.
