‘RHOC’ Star Vicki Gunvalson Still Talks To Brooks Ayers Despite Their ‘Toxic’ Relationship
Vicki Gunvalson can’t cut ties with Brooks Ayers.
Although their relationship ended in the midst of Ayers’ cancer scam, Us Magazine reports that Gunvalson still talks to her ex-boyfriend.
Why hasn’t The Real Housewives of Orange County star cut off communication with Ayers?
Apparently, Ayers and Gunvalson still talk because of their joint business venture and court battles.
“I’m only talking to Vicki because of the Vodka lawsuit from 2013,” Ayers told The Real Mr. Housewife. “All of the claims against me have been dropped yet my counterclaims against the plaintiff still remain.”
Ayers and Gunvalson partnered three years ago. Their business fell apart after their ex-partner, Robert Williamson III, sued them for fraud and breach of contract.
“Unfortunately, Vicki is still having to deal with claims for and against her,” Ayers stated. “So we do talk strategy to help each other. It’s all business between us now.”
According to People, Gunvalson and Ayers have had an on and off relationship over the years.
Of course, this led to one of the biggest scandals in the history of RHOC after Ayers admitted to forging medical records.
As far as Gunvalson is concerned, Daily Mail reports that she defended Ayers throughout the majority of his cancer scam.
Eventually, Gunvalson realized her mistake and ended things with Ayers during RHOC’s reunion special. However, the damage had already been done.
The fallout from Ayers’ cancer lies hit Gunvalson hard, especially in terms of her friendships on RHOC.
Meanwhile, Gunvalson faced further backlash after rumors surfaced that she and Ayers were getting back together.
Tamra Judge fueled the reunion rumors during her recent interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
Judge told Cohen that she believes Gunvalson will eventually take Ayers back, despite their controversial history.
“I can only speculate, but I do think they’re still talking,” she stated. “I think it’s a matter of time before they get back together.”
“I’ve moved on and am very happy… I wish her the best. I have no desire to be involved with her or her family. Too toxic for me. Once and for all, we are done as a couple.”
Ayers isn’t the only one who has moved on. In fact, Gunvalson is now dating Steve Lodge and appears more than happy with her new beau.
Lodge even gets along with Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana Culberson — Something that Ayers never accomplished.
“[Briana] loves him!” Gunvalson told Us Magazine. “They do wine night together when I’m working or traveling. She calls him and says, ‘Steve, are you coming over?’ It’s so funny!”
With Lodge at her side, Gunvalson has the family she has always wanted.
“I love it! I wanted that. It’s my answered prayers. I wanted a family that could all be together for the holidays and could travel,” she added. “We are planning a trip together over the holidays with all the families.”
It appears as though both Gunvalson and Ayers have moved on with their lives. Whether or not Ayers’ recent comments stop further rumors about him and Gunvalson is yet to be seen.
In the meantime, Gunvalson still has a lot of work to do if she wants to repair her broken friendships with the other ladies on RHOC.
