Sheryl Crow Blames Her Cell Phone For Brain Tumor

In a recent interview, Sheryl Crow said that she thinks that her cell phone may have been the cause of her benign brain tumor.

Crow revealed that she believes her cell phone is to blame for her condition in a sit-down with Katie Couric on her new talk show. “There are no doctors that will confirm that,” the 50-year-old singer said on Katie. “[But] I do have the theory that it’s possible that it’s related to that. When I was promoting my first record, I did hours of [interviews] on the old archaic cell phones.” Her reasons for believing that her cell phone caused her tumor are bolstered more so by the fact that the benign growth is located right where she would hold her cell phone, reports MSN.

Before her diagnosis, Crow believed that she was experiencing early-onset Alzheimer’s because she would forget lyrics and space-out during performances, saying that she felt “mushy.” Many close to Crow downplayed her feelings, saying that it was normal for a busy mother of two to feel that way, notes People.

Crow successfully battled breast cancer several years ago, and said that she’s not terribly worried about the pink-sized tumor. She told Couric that it’s “nothing I have to worry about,” but noted that learning of the tumor was “definitely a sobering moment,” and that she will continue to keep a close eye on it.

Are you a Sheryl Crow fan? Were you shocked by her diagnosis? Do you think that cell phones possibly cause brain cancer?
