With Hillary Clinton Cornered By The FBI, Donald Trump Sabotaging His Campaign — Shouldn’t We Be Welcoming Bernie Sanders As A Formidable Candidate?

Earlier today, it has been reported that democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been subjected to an almost three and a half hour FBI interview regarding the email probe.

The private investigation, according to Clinton’s campaign spokesman Nick Merrill, was a “voluntary interview” that the Secretary offered.

“She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion,” added Merrill.

According to former deputy chief of the Justice Department Justin Shur, this is a sign that the FBI is “wrapping things up.” However, Shur’s reputation for unbiased conclusions is currently in question since he is now working for private practice at the MoloLamken Firm.

Meanwhile, according to the Washington Post, this is not the end for Hillary Clinton’s investigation. Based on the interview she did, the FBI would be at very close proximity over the next two weeks.

This is a very challenging timing for Hillary Clinton, since that would just be in time for the Democratic Party’s national convention that would open in Philadelphia on July 25. Right now, Hillary Clinton is just said to be the presumptive nominee and not a formal nominee yet. A slight rejection from the FBI could complicate Clinton’s entire campaign.

On the other hand, the republican presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, has been in a tumultuous state, as well. Late last month, his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, was terminated. Last July 1, it was reported that two of his major staffers have also filed their resignations.

Kevin Kellems, who worked with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Vice President Dick Cheney, used to handle Trump’s surrogate division. Together with Erica Freeman, they both left the campaign in ruins.

Kellems was said to have been frustrated by the leadership on the campaign. There was just too much dysfunction in its operations that could no longer be overhauled.

Same as Kellems, Freeman reportedly found the operations disastrous. During one time, this conflict with Freeman got spilled out to the public when Trump called her out during a conference call with the surrogates.

Aside from Kellems and Freeman, Donald Trump has recently let go of Vincent Harris, his digital consultant who has been in the campaign for less than a week. When asked about the resignations and terminations, Donald Trump said they would be implementing “structural improvements.”

Can’t Keep Hiding Bernie Sanders Forever

When President Barack Obama announced his support to Hillary Clinton, people thought it would have to be game over for Sen. Bernie Sanders. However, the Vermont-bred senator did not stop his campaign even if the polls are saying he only has 2% chance of winning.

Interestingly, Bernie Sanders has raised about $213 million for the campaign, while Hillary Clinton had $296.8 million. Bernie Sanders has also won a string of concessions from the Democratic Party. According to Sanders’ senior adviser, the latest draft of the Democratic Party platform shows that Sanders has won more victories on his signature issues. So far, Sanders’ team has been mostly satisfied with the process and the outcome.

Bernie Sanders did not only capture the hearts of his followers. Out of all the presidential candidates, he was the only one who had a positive response from the Pope.

“I just wanted to let him know,” Sanders told CNN, “how appreciative I was and the extraordinary role he’s playing throughout the world in raising consciousness about massive levels of income and wealth inequality.”

For the past weeks, Bernie Sanders is being dismissed by mainstream media with everyone else narrating the Trump vs Clinton fight. While everyone else is bombarding the news streams with this duo, Bernie Sanders and his supporters are staying stronger. With Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump having their own campaign issues, Bernie Sanders might just take this perfect opportunity to go all the way to the top.
