‘Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’ PS4, Xbox One Release Date Set For October 25


Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 release date in the U.S. has been officially announced. According to GameRant, the PS4 and Xbox One versions for the upcoming entry to the fighting RPG are slated for an October 25 launch. Meanwhile, the PC version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 via Steam will hit the shelves three days after its console release. Moreover, Forbes mentioned that the European release for Xenoverse 2 is happening on October 28.

A trailer for the upcoming PS4, Xbox One and PC game to be published by Bandai Namco has been posted as well, featuring its story mode and its combat gameplay, Game Rant reported. A tweet from Bandai Namco U.S. also teased that the trailer features the new characters coming to the online multiplayer’s sequel.

In addition to the launch date announcement, the game publisher also revealed in a press release that they are collaborating with DJ Steve Aoki for the game’s music. “The special collaboration between BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. and DJ Steve Aoki adds musical depth and a new dimension to the DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 experience that will surely delight players and Dragon Ball® fans,” the post on Bandai Namco’s official website read.

Describing his excitement collaborating for the series, DJ Steve Aoki said, “Having grown up with Dragon Ball, I jumped at the chance to contribute my talents and leave my personal impact on the series.”

The Grammy-nominated artist is also expected to remix some popular tracks from the Dragon Ball Z universe such as We Gotta Power and Cha-La Head-Cha-La. In addition to his musical collaboration, the DJ will also appear in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as a non-playable character or NPC. This means that gamers will be able to interact with the character in Conton, a brand new city hub that gamers are free to explore.

According to Eric Hartness, VP of Marketing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc, Xenoverse 2 is “shaping up to be the biggest and best Dragon Ball video game experience to date. Both the contribution of DJ Steve Aoki’s musical talents and his in-game likeness will add a fun new dimension to the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 experience that fans will appreciate,” Hartness added.

The overview for Dimps’ Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, as posted on its official page on Bandai Namco website reads as follows.

“Developed to fully utilize the power of current generation gaming consoles and PCs, DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 builds upon the highly popular DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE with enhanced graphics that will further immerse players into the largest and most detailed Dragon Ball world ever developed.”

Some of the features and upgrades to expect upon the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 are brand new characters and boss fights as well as next-generation visuals. Moreover, the brand new hub city is larger than ever as it will be seven times the size of the original game carrying 300 players online at the same time. Furthermore, the character creation system and battle adjustments will be even more in-depth, the website noted. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 gamers can also expect updates and post-launch support for over a year.

As for Xenoverse 2’s story, even though the details are yet to be discussed, GameRant reported that based on the announcement trailer earlier released for the game and the latest one, it looks like “the player will be taking their unique fighter back through the history of the series, encountering Goku’s father Bardock, as well as meeting Future Gohan from the dark future that Trunks first traveled back from in the Android Saga.”

The original Dragon Ball Xenoverse was initially released in February 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The PS4 version received a 69/100 MetaScore and 7.7 User Score from Metacritic.
