Taylor Swift Addicted To Love? That’s What Dr. Drew Thinks

Taylor Swift has become the butt of internet jokes since she has quickly moved on with actor Tom Hiddleston. These days, it seems like everyone is weighing in on Taylor Swift’s relationships and her love life.

Even Calvin Harris, 32, revealed on Instagram that his famous girlfriend controlled the media when it came to their relationship and split, according to Elle, while some think that Taylor Swift, 26, and Tom Hiddleston, 35, are dating for PR purposes due to the actor’s desire to become the next James Bond. Now, Dr. Drew Pinsky is weighing in on what he thinks about the singer’s need to jump quickly into relationships.

According to TMZ, the celebrity doctor believes that Taylor could be addicted to love. He’s scheduled to appear on this week’s episode of Allegedly with Matt Weiss and Theo Von to give his input on Taylor’s long list of ex-lovers. Drew says that he believes that Taylor is in love with the idea of love, which is why she falls hard and fast with every guy she dates.

“You don’t know how much of it is manufactured because she is pretty glossy,” Dr. Drew said on the podcast. “That kind of serial stuff kind of looks like love addiction. That’s one way to conceptualize that.”

Then, Dr. Drew was asked to explain what love addiction is so that listeners could better understand.

“You get in deep fast and you idolize the other person and you have a lot of fantasies attached to that, and then you can’t quite get out because you get so deep, so fast and then other person thinks it’s clingy.”

More details on Dr. Drew’s thoughts on Taylor Swift’s dating life will be released on Tuesday, July 5. Fans can listen in and download the full podcast on iTunes. This isn’t the first time that Swift has been rumored to be addicted to love. An exclusive Radar Online report from 2012 cited Swift’s interview with Country Weekly, in which she opened up about her famous ex-boyfriends and admitted that her “favorite thing to talk about” is her issues with love.

“I end up in conversations about relationships no matter what. When I talk to fans and I see them in public or I run into them at Starbucks or at the airport or something, they always ask me about their boyfriend issues, and I love it! It’s my favorite thing to talk about.”

The then 22-year-old singer-songwriter, who was dating then 18-year-old Conor Kennedy at the time, admitted that she never gets tired of thinking about love or writing about it.

“I just love talking about love. I love writing about love. I love thinking about love because it’s so unpredictable.”

When it came to admitting her biggest fear, the country-turned-pop singer responded, saying, “losing someone I love.”

Another expert has weighed in on Swift’s latest relationship with the Night Manager star. Famously Single dating coach Laurel House made an appearance on E! News earlier this week to talk about the hot new couple. She even shared her thoughts on Swift’s breakup with Harris and her future with Hiddleston. House says that she’s glad that Swift has finally moved on from the bad boys and found what she’s been looking for all her life. In fact, she thinks that Swift has an addiction to dating bad boys, not an addiction to falling in love.

“Taylor has been looking for a man for a really long time. She finally broke her bad boy addiction. ‘Bad’ and ‘boy’ both being operative words. With Calvin, he was a good guy which prepared her for Tom, who is her man.”

However, Laurel believes that Taylor and Tom’s relationship is genuine, despite what the haters think. But she also agrees that the singer moved on too fast after her split from DJ Calvin.

“Is it too fast? Is she flaunting it? Maybe! Maybe she’s not going about it the right way, but I do feel like this is authentic. She finally found what she needs: safe, sexy and seen.”

As for whether or not she sees Swift and Hiddleston lasting for the long haul, she said that she believes they will ride out their romance.

“If they’re both communicating their needs…then yes, I feel that this has longevity,” House added.
