JoAnna Garcia Swisher Welcomes New Baby With Husband, Nick Swisher

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, best known for her role as Ariel on ABC’s Once Upon a Time and her upcoming role in the Richie Keen comedy Fist Fight, has taken time away from acting to take on a new role. Ms. Swisher will now be playing mother to her newborn daughter, while husband Nick Swisher eagerly steps into the role of dad to Sailor Stevie Swisher. Sailor is the second daughter JoAnna and Nick have welcomed into their growing family.

It’s not surprising that each parent has been gushing over their new daughter with Instagram followers, because, as JoAnna reveals in her own post, the Swisher’s entire family has had their hearts stolen by little Sailor Swisher, according to People. The Fist Fight actress reveals that Sailor was welcomed at a very healthy seven pounds, one ounce, measuring 18.5 inches long. Sailor’s sister, Emerson Jay Swisher, is now 3-years-old, so she’ll be eager to show Sailor the ropes.

“Watching Emme meet her baby sister for the first time was so incredible,” Swisher says. “We weren’t sure what to expect because she has been the center of our world, but she is so sweet and gentle with her. Our family finally feels complete. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for our precious little girls.”

JoAnna and the Atlanta Braves’ Nick Swisher were married in 2010, but waited a couple of years, before bringing Emerson into the picture. Now, the couple’s first daughter is eager to start teaching Sailor everything she knows, says Ms. Swisher. JoAnna expects to have another expert on anything related to Emmie’s three most favorite things: Princess Elsa, ponies, and Play-Doh.

For Ms. Swisher, parenting has become something more natural and instinctive, now that she has let go of what others have told her she should be doing. Garcia Swisher says the best advice she has received has been to trust her instincts and to not lose sight of her own health and happiness, and since taking that suggestion to heart, Garcia Swisher says everything else has fallen into place.

“When I first had Emme, I was so focused on doing everything ‘right’ or ‘by the book’ that I forgot to listen to my gut and have confidence in that,” says JoAnna Garcia Swisher.

E! News reports that a visit from JoAnna Garcia Swisher on Watch What Happens Live revealed that the Once Upon a Time actress is still keeping things fresh and exciting in the bedroom, which is something most couples struggle with after becoming parents. For the Swishers, the key is variety. JoAnna revealed that her husband’s baseball jersey was a big turn on for her, but added that it doesn’t really play a part in their bedroom activities.

“I take it off into the bedroom,” says Garcia Swisher.

“Drunk sex is the best, but victory sex is nice,” JoAnna continued.

While each type of sex may have its place in their relationship, Ms. Garcia Swisher adds that they don’t need an excuse to get frisky. The Once Upon a Time actress was very open about their relationship, leaving no room for gossip that she might be withholding sex from her baseball-playing husband.

“He definitely always gets laid,” said Garcia Swisher, “and I’m not just saying that because I’m a jerk. We have a good situation.”

Now, with two girls to chase after, it will remain to be seen if the Swisher couple will still have the energy to keep their bedroom antics lively and inventive.
