Calvin Harris: Life After Taylor Swift

Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift recently ended what had seemed to many fans to be a fairy tale relationship. Although they are no longer romantically linked, Calvin Harris’ ex-girlfriend may have helped him to create his new single “This Is What You Came For,” according to Seventeen.

Some fans are convinced that Calvin Harris wrote the song, which features Rihanna, with Swift while they were still together, citing all of the “oooh”s in the song as evidence. Earlier this week, Twitter was abuzz with speculation that Calvin Harris’s ex-girlfriend was indeed featured in the song.

While there is no indication as to how the rumors started, there does certainly appear to be a few clues that may provide evidence that the rumors may indeed be true. At one point, the Wikipedia entry for Calvin’s new song listed Taylor Swift as the co-writer, this was later changed to a Nils Sjoberg. Now, fans even believe that Calvin’s ex-girlfriend uses the name as an alias when she writes music. It was originally thought that the only other Nils Sjoberg of note was a Swedish poet who died in 1822; however, this has been debunked. It has since been shown that the song was co-written with Marcus Nils Sjöberg, a member of Wintergatan, a Swedish electronica trio.

Taylor Swift seems to be doing just fine post-breakup, especially given the copious photos that have been taken showing her with Tom Hiddleston, including shots of the couple enjoying time together in Rome.

But where does this leave Calvin Harris? Fortunately, it does seem like he is doing fine on his own as well. According to Time, Calvin Harris snapchatted himself on a yacht surrounded by a group of brunettes.

Calvin Harris had a more homegrown approach to the aftermath of the breakup, unlike his ex-girlfriend who had the media detailing her long walks on the beach with Hiddleston. Right now, Calvin Harris seems to be enjoying a bachelor’s life akin to that of Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.

The main takeaway that Calvin Harris wants the world to know is that he is officially done with dating celebrities. According to TMZ, Calvin Harris believes that celebrities are narcissistic and now all he really wants is a “normal” girl.

Given the timing of this revelation, it can be assumed that Calvin Harris is all but blaming Taylor Swift for his decision to stay away from celebrities for future relationships. As for why he appears to be calling Swift a narcissist, it may be because Calvin Harris feels that he was dumped while he was still getting over his recent car accident, simply because his now-ex-girlfriend had found someone new.

According to TMZ, the “This Is What You Came For” musician believes that Swift was obsessed with her life and her career, to the point where she felt put out whenever he had plans that conflicted with what she wanted to do. Calvin Harris is reportedly not looking for a relationship at the moment, but when he does decide that he is looking for one again, the famous DJ surely won’t have a problem finding someone new given that he is still a resident DJ in the biggest nightclub in Vegas. For a time, rumors were circulating that Calvin hooked up with Megan Ross, but he has since debunked the rumors.

His DJ status seems to be working very well for him during a recent performance at the Cabo nightclub in Mexico, when Calvin was spotted getting flirty with a brunette in the crowd, according to the Daily Mail. His ex-girlfriend and his recent breakup seemed to be the last things on his mind while he was partying with the crowd in Mexico.
