‘Thor 3’: Marvel Director Says His Ideas Could ‘Mess It All Up’

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok director, Taika Waititi, has mentioned that his ideas could “mess it all up.” Of course, Marvel believes in taking chances, but why jeopardize the overall storyline with Thor?

Well, that’s the rumor anyway. However, if you read the entire quote, Waititi’s words could have been taken out of context as well as misquoted.

In actuality, the only possible “danger” that Thor‘s Marvel presence might encounter is more humor.

Thor: Ragnarok’s director recently participated in an interview with Vulture. During the interview, he suggested that it’s a good thing he’s not exclusive to Marvel.

“There’s a good reason why I’m not a part of the studio — I don’t have a brain for that, to see outside of this one film I’m making,” says Waititi.

Thor‘s director continues his elaboration by stating the following.

“All those guys know exactly what’s going on with all the other films and how they relate, which is good, because I’m somebody who can mess that up a bit.”

This is from where some readers have taken the “mess it up” error. If you know anything about rumors, it’s that — by the time it returns to you — it’s something completely different, straying far from the original meaning or statement.

However, Thor‘s new movie will be different, according to director Waititi. As mentioned, he will include a heightened sense of humor.

While it’s great to laugh and enjoy comedy, Marvel is successful due to its track record and action-packed formula for engagement. Actually, the Thor director agrees.

Although Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok will slightly stray from the minimalist, comical variation the fans usually enjoy, it has to stay in accordance with the movie studio’s strategy.

“There are elements of that in there, but the film is so different from anything else that I’d ever seen,” notes Thor director Waititi. “I can’t really say too much about it, but it’s going to be an amazing film.”

Thor‘s movie “has to fit within the universe,” according to the director. During his interview, he was asked if he was given the freedom and liberty to make the movie his own or create it as he sees fit.

To that regard, the Marvel movie director gave the answer.

There’s another notion that people believe Thor: Ragnarok will be “too” comedic — bordering the verge of a “buddy comedy.” Yet, the Marvel movie overseer addressed that topic during the Vulture interview as well.

Essentially, as pertains to the new Thor sequel, “I wouldn’t say this is really a buddy film, you know,” says Waititi.

The director mentioned that there were several ideas already in place for the Thor movie before he took on the director’s role.

So, while Thor: Ragnarok might make you laugh — as keeping tuned to the company’s reputable box office turn out — it will still be the action-packed film that Marvel movie fans know and love.

According to Internet Movie Database, Marvel’s movie will release in November, 2017. However, the page hasn’t been updated since December, 2015, and there has possibly been an amendment to the release date.

Nevertheless, it will contain the same characters from the previous Thor movies, plus the addition of a few new characters.

Actually, in the interview, the new Marvel director mentioned that he’ll make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok as well.

“I’m in all of my films, so I will be probably always do that [make appearances],” says Waititi. He also noted that his mother will be watching the movie, so that’s another incentive for him to show himself.

The source also notes that most of the locations will be close to the Thor director’s New Zealand homeland, in Queensland, Australia.

However, it notes other locations for the Marvel movie in Oxenford and at Village Roadshow Studios.

All in all, are you excited about the next Thor movie? Do you think Marvel will outdo the previous films? Feel free to share your response in the comments below.
