Bethenny Frankel Celebrates And Sobs, Ex Finally Vacates ‘RHONY’ Star’s $5 Million Apartment

After years battling over the property with her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, Bethenny Frankel finally has reason to celebrate. Hoppy has finally vacated the Real Housewives of New York star’s $5 million New York City pad that the two once shared.

The former couple shares 6-year-old daughter Bryn, and tied the knot just following the boom of the star’s Skinny Girl Cocktails brand. Frankel had purchased the apartment in 2011, prior to meeting Hoppy. The marriage of Jason and Bethenny quickly deteriorated and left the two estranged while they battled over assets and custody of their daughter. One such asset included the TriBeca apartment

While the battle carried on, Jason Hoppy continued to live large in Frankel’s apartment, while the star was forced to hop from hotel to hotel, finally buying a new condo in SoHo for $4.2 million. Wonderwall shares the details as to why Jason was able to stay put in Bethenny’s apartment for such a long period of time when it was she who had originally purchased the space.

“Jason argued that he has rights to the place since he was named as a beneficiary in the trust when Bethenny made the purchase. But finally, in March, a judge ruled that the entire trust was invalid, prompting him to evacuate.”

It has been a long ride to reaching this point, and Frankel was happy to speak about returning to her apartment for the first time in so long, while on her radio show with Sirius XM B Real with Bethenny.

“I walked in and it just washed over me. I sobbed for hours. It was like this release. And you always think things are going to be one way. I thought it was going to be like the biggest party ever, I’d be roller-skating through there with my top off, my t**s hanging out, so excited, and there’s nothing good about any of it. It was all just remembering moving in there. It was a hideous experience, and I just didn’t know how to even process the feeling.”

At this point Bethenny is free to sell the apartment that caused her such stress over the years, and a silver lining is that the property is now valued at $ 7 million. Not only has the reality TV star moved on in real estate, but she has also found love again with Dennis Shields. Frankel divulged details about the new man in her life to People magazine.

“We’ve both been married and separated. So we’re a perfect match. Like everything else in my life, I’m owning it.”

As it stands, the divorce battle between Frankel and Hoppy blazes on; however, it seems the proceedings are finally nearing their end, and hopefully the successful businesswoman can find peace after such a challenging time in her life. A new romance certainly couldn’t hurt matters.

Interestingly enough, Bethenny first met Dennis 27 years ago when he dated and then married her high school friend. The star did not stay in touch with her pal who got hitched to Shields, 48; however, the two shared other mutual friends who got them in touch. A few months after Shields split from his wife, Bethenny and he began dating.

Unfortunately, Frankel has experienced health concerns as of late that have likely not helped her stress level with all that has been occurring in her divorce settlement and custody issues. It’s obviously a win for Frankel to have at least found love amid all of the chaos she has experienced between her ex and her health, while trying to not lose her cool among all of the catty women on the Real Housewives of New York. She’s done well to power through these challenging times.
