Selena Gomez Looking To Date Taylor Swift’s Ex-Boyfriend Calvin Harris?
According to reports, Selena Gomez may have her eye on Calvin Harris following his split from Taylor Swift.
New reports are claiming that Selena allegedly thinks that she and Harris could potentially be a good match, despite the Scottish DJ just splitting with Taylor, who’s also Gomez’s best friend, just weeks ago.
“Selena’s told friends she believes she and Calvin would make a perfect match,” a source alleged to Hollywood Life this week, admitting that Gomez supposedly never really thought that Harris and Swift made a good match despite the former couple dating for 15 months.
“She always thought Taylor just wasn’t right for him and the breakup confirmed that in her mind. She says she and Calvin would make a better couple,” the source continued. “Selena has always had her eye on Calvin.”
While the new report sounds pretty farfetched, seeing as Selena and Taylor are notoriously so close, the source added that despite Gomez’s alleged feelings for Calvin, she has no intention of making her admiration for Harris known to Swift.
“Selena doesn’t want to lose her best friend,” a source claimed, alleging that “if Swift gets wind of her interest, [Gomez will] ‘just try to laugh it off.'”
While it seems pretty unlikely that we’ll be seeing Selena and Calvin getting together anytime soon despite the new reports, while Taylor and Harris’s were still dating, it was reported that Gomez was using their romance as a template for what her own dating life could look like.
Back in March, a separate source claimed to Hollywood Life that Selena had been turning to Swift for a little dating advice, four months before she and Harris called it quits and Taylor began her whirlwind new romance with Tom Hiddleston.
“Selena Gomez would give anything to be in a relationship like Taylor and Calvin’s,” an insider told the site earlier this year, revealing that Gomez was looking for the “commitment and respect” Taylor and Calvin enjoyed prior to their surprising breakup.
A source also told the site at the time that Swift and Harris’s “relationship gave Selena hope that she will one day have the same thing and that one day she will find her soulmate.”
But as rumors swirl that Selena could be interested in Taylor’s ex, Gomez is allegedly giving her approval when it comes to Swift’s new man, Tom Hiddleston.
“Selena has met Tom and loves him,” a source told the site after the Daily Mail reported that Swift and Hiddleston were spotted getting cozy at Selena’s concert in Nashville, Tennessee.
“He is so nice, so fun and a real honest person and the ultimate gentleman,” the source added. “[Selena] likes how he treats Taylor and how he makes her feel, she signs off on him completely.”
“He’s just a real genuine guy and Selena really enjoys seeing that,” the insider revealed.
Selena has yet to officially speak out about her supposed feelings towards Taylor’s current and ex-boyfriend, though Swift has spoken about her and Gomez’s close relationship in the past, making it even more unlikely that Gomez and Harris could be the next big Hollywood couple.
“It’s been the longest one I think either of us had really,” Swift gushed about her friendship with Gomez in a 2015 interview with E! News. “Your life is commented on and your life is written about and fictionalised and all that.”
“When your life changes and you become thrust into this really strange whirlwind where what your life is different from what other people think your life is,” Taylor continued of Gomez. “Both of us have kind of stuck it out and hung in there through all the different changes we’ve gone through.”
