‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For July 1, Twilight Garrison And Bad Juju Star

Xur visits the Reef in Destiny for the weekend of July 1. The mysterious vendor is back with previous Exotic favorites for PlayStation and Xbox players, such as Bad Juju and Twilight Garrison.

This week’s hiding spot for Xur is in the Reef social area. You’ll want to turn right from the spawn point, head down the stairs past the Bounty vendor, and then go in the first door to the right of the bottom of the stairs. The Agent of the Nine is tucked away in a corner on the right. Bungie has finally fixed the door issue in Xur’s cubby hole by removing the door.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Bad Juju

Bad Juju used to reign supreme with Voidwalker Warlocks despite having one of the more difficult quest chains. Its use has toned down some for Year Two, but the power of the “String of Curses” intrinsic perk is hard to deny. It reloads the fully automatic Pulse Rifle weapon automatically after each kill and gives a small damage boost. Every kill also provides bonus Super energy, the benefit of which should be obvious. This is a must get for those who have not been fortunate enough to get it from Destiny’s random loot drops.

Twilight Garrison

The main draw for the Twilight Garrison is the fact it makes Titans more mobile. The Tactical Air Support intrinsic perk allows players to do an evasive move while airborne by pressing B, B on the Xbox One or Circle, Circle on the PS4. This piece is best used in Crucible and is very helpful for dodging incoming fire and Supers.

The 64 Intellect/65 Discipline split roll is strong for the piece, and it comes with the option to carry more Special Ammo or Heavy Ammo. It also comes with a choice between increased recovery when taking Void damage or more armor when playing the Defender in Destiny.

Mask of the Third Man

This is a Year Two upgrade for one of the favorite Exotic helmets employed by the Bladedancer Hunter sub-class in Destiny. The primary “Unstable Current” perk will give a couple of extra swings with the Arc Blade super ability, which received some changes for both PVE and PVP recently.

The random perk roll has “Hands-On” in the third column along with “Second Thoughts.” That’s bonus super energy from killing minions with melee and from killing minions with Special Weapons. The final column random perk is “Innvervation” for bonus grenade energy from Orb pickup.

The 73 Intellect stat is decent enough for Destiny Bladedancers depending on overall stats. PVE players might want to consider re-rolling to get “Inverse Shadow.”

Apotheosis Veil

The Apotheosis Veil lost its uniqueness from Year One when Bungie introduced the Infusion and Better Already perks in Year Two. This resulted in the helmet’s intrinsic perk being boosted to grant full health, melee, and grenade energy when activating a Super.

The optional perks have the right roll with “Inverse Shadow” for extra Super energy from minion kills and “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy from Heavy Weapon kills. The third column perk is set as “Better Already” with immediate shield recovery after picking up Orbs of Light.

The 80 Intellect stat roll is excellent for the helmet. This helmet’s utility is primarily in PVE activities, and the perk rolls match that perfectly.
