Tony Danza Not Dead, Did Not Fall Off Cliff In New Zealand

Tony Danza is not dead, though the actor has been the victim of the latest in an unabating series of death hoaxes involving a number of celebrities and causing a spike of traffic to the websites perpetuating the misinformation that high-profile but currently quiet celebrities have died either in a rollover car accident or fallen to their deaths on-set in New Zealand.

Tony Danza is not only not dead but is working on some new projects. The site claims that Danza died on September 10 in an exact-copy tale that has plagued celebrities John Cena, Jerry Springer, and, more notably, Morgan Freeman since Labor Day weekend.

According to the spurious story, Tony Danza died in a cliff-fall today in New Zealand, and the site says:

“Actor Tony Danza died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning – September 10, 2012Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12).”

As is standard practice for the site, a blurb is added at the bottom seemingly to add credibility to the story that Tony Danza died:

New Zealand, in recent years has grown in populariaty as a backdrop for Hollywood producers because of it’s scenic and rugged landscape. Recent movies filmed in New Zealand include The Lord Of the Rings, King Kong, and The Chronicles Of Narnia.”
