Tom Hiddleston Diet: Did The Actor Get Fit For His Bond Role And Will It Cost Him?

Right before Tom Hiddleston embarked on his whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift, the actor was seen posing in his underwear and hitting the gym. It looks like the Night Manager star is trying to bulk up so he can get that James Bond role.

Tom Hiddleston, 35, has become the focus of various headlines in recent weeks. The actor is reportedly dating Taylor Swift, 26, who has moved on quickly from her ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris. Hiddleston is also rumored to be the next James Bond. He wants the role so bad that he’s on a special diet in order to bulk up for it.

The Thor star is so desperate to score the part that he has overhauled his entire diet and fitness regimen in order to beat out other possible candidates such as Tom Hardy and Idris Elba. An alleged inside source at Eon productions, which makes the Bond Films, opened up to The Sun about Hiddleston’s new diet regimen.

“Tom Hiddleston is already bulking up for the Bond role on a special diet. His new physique has been noticed by the bosses who now have him at the top of their list to replace Daniel Craig. Tom Hardy is going to be his main contender and not Idris Elba as everyone thinks. He was their pick up until recently but Hiddleston has shot ahead and he is working extra hard to get the part.”

So, even though Tom has been enjoying his Italian getaway with his new girlfriend, he’s not supposed to be eating a lot of pasta and spaghetti at the moment. The rumors first swirled back in May when it was reported that Tom was getting close to becoming the next James Bond after he attended a secret meeting with 007 producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes at London’s exclusive SoHo House around 1 a.m. An onlooker assumed that Tom was trying out his chance to become the next James Bond by getting to know the director and producer.

The hard work has paid off because the ginger actor recently stripped down for a barely-there photo shoot with W magazine. Seen in just a pair of tiny white boxers, Hiddleston put his muscular arms, abs, and chest on display in the photo shoot. However, according to the Daily Mail, Hiddleston’s efforts haven’t paid off yet since he still “hasn’t added much bulk to his lean frame.” Looks like he has some more work to do when he comes back from his vacation with Swift.

Most fans assumed that Tom Hiddleston’s photo shoot with W magazine was a publicity stunt, much like his relationship with Taylor Swift. Well, it looks like he’s not the only star who’s stripping down for the provocative shoot. American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson, 41, posed topless in the editorial while gorgeous actor Liev Schreiber, 48, showed off his impressive physique in an unbuttoned shirt.

Meanwhile, the Hurt Locker’s Anthony Mackie, 37, posed on a sofa in just a white tank and matching briefs. And West World star, Thandie Newton, was seen posing in a black floral print nightie with lace trim as she reclined on an unmade bed. Probably the same unmade bed that Hiddleston was seen posing on.

Some of the actors even spoke to the publication about their current roles. Hiddleston spoke out about his bare bum being banned from the U.S. version of his AMC series.

“I was surprised to hear that they cut my butt out. I’m here to tell you that my butt is not dangerous. And there are many, many more dangerous things that people are happy to broadcast. I don’t know what that says about the world we live in, but probably says something.”

Last week, the up-and-coming actor was seen hitting the gym in New York in Taylor’s vehicle. Tom was decked out in head-to-toe black and carrying a smoothie, which GQ magazine reported as his “secret gym gear strategy” to get you ripped much like the actor himself. The reason why he probably doesn’t wear attractive gym clothes is so he can focus on his fitness instead of his appearance when he shows up to the gym.

But could Hiddleston’s Bond ambition backfire because he’s dating Taylor Swift? Hiddleston could have already ruined his chances due to his fast-paced romance with the singer, according to the Telegraph. Fellow actor Aidan Turner might be a shoe-in since he’s relatively unknown and is not photographed every single day. Instead of being photographed every day with his new girlfriend, Hiddleston should try to lay low for a while and avoid the paparazzi along with her gushing fans.
