Jennifer Garner Is Not Ignoring Ben Affleck After ‘Drunk’ Bill Simmons Interview

Is Jennifer Garner ignoring Ben Affleck over his controversial interview? Not so fast! Sources report to Star that Garner is “mortified” due to her ex Affleck’s “drunk” appearance on the new show Bill Simmons’ Any Given Sunday.

When the clip of Ben Affleck ranting and raving about his beloved Patriots and Tom Brady’s difficult position in the deflategate scandal hit the internet, many outlets presumed that Affleck, who has a sordid history with substance abuse, was drunk on the show. Some pointed that the actor and father of three, was slurring his speech as he railed against the NFL for trying to confiscate Brady’s phone during the scandal.

Affleck’s rep immediately told TMZ that the actor wasn’t drunk, that he was just passionate about sports. Even the Inquisitr reported that Affleck was just heated up about sports, and in fact, looked like a regular guy who was invested in the game, specifically many Boston sports fans. That said, many tabloids are using this headline making appearance to speculate the nature of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s relationship.

It’s been a year now since Affleck and Garner announced that they were getting a divorce, and as far as we know, neither side has filed. There are also reports stating that the two still live in their Pacific Palisades home together, and have no plans to change that arrangement. Throughout this time there has been rumors that they’re either silently hating each other and not speaking to one another, or that they’re on the verge of calling their divorce off.

While Star wrote back in May that they were spotted kissing in Paris during their family trip, this week they’re changing their tune. Star reports that a source said, “Ben humiliated himself by being clearly drunk on TV. It won’t be easy for him to live that down.”

The insider continued, “Jen won’t talk to him. “She’s seen him sloppy drunk plenty of times, but he’d managed to avoid being that way on national television. His behavior has Jen mortified, and he’ll have to start from square one if he wants to save his family.”

Gossip Cop, who is reputable with putting out gossip fires, has contacted a direct source close to the situation that calls these rumors “B.S.” and said that Affleck was not intoxicated while on the show.

Ben Affleck even sent out tweets when the news started to trend on Twitter.

On the other side of the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner rumors is that they’re getting back together. During that same appearance on Any Given Wednesday, before they got into deflategate, Ben called Garner his wife, while speaking about how he owes much of his success to her.

“My wife was really instrumental and helpful in me doing a lot of that work because I was just so focused [on it] and it was harder to balance family and all that.”

While Jennifer Garner is legally still his wife, some have pointed to this quote as evidence that they’re throwing their divorce out the window. What do you think?
