Tom Hiddleston Accused Of Dating Taylor Swift To Land James Bond Role — Will Taylor Be His Bond Girl?

Tom Hiddleston is being accused of being an “opportunist” and dating Taylor Swift in an attempt to land a role as James Bond in the upcoming installment of the British spy franchise.

According to Page Six, Wendy Williams put Hiddleston on serious blast on her daytime talk show earlier this week, claiming that he was nothing but an “opportunist” and suggesting that Tom was dating Swift in an attempt to help him land the prestigious role.

“I suspect he’s also a bit of an opportunist,” Wendy said of Tom on the show when discussing Swift’s latest romance during the “Hot Topics” segment of her daytime talk show.

“I’m going to tell you why: First of all, he wants to be the next James Bond, and he’s English. And I suspect… Because I’d never heard of this guy before… so how do you drum up votes? By getting on Hot Topics,” Williams said of Hiddleston and Taylor’s romance.

“I’m just saying! How do you get on Hot Topics?” Wendy continued, “By dating somebody that we talk about!”

Fans also took to social media to speculate about the nature of Tom and Taylor’s newfound romance.

“Tom Hiddleston might be using Taylor Swift to land Bond role,” @gettingsome speculated on the 140-character site this week, while @texasassy tweeted, “Tom Hiddleston tryna be the next James Bond by dating Taylor swift I see.”

Twitter user @BlckdByJilZarin also speculated that there could be more to Swift and Hiddleston’s romance than meets the eye, tweeting out, “PSA. Taylor Swift & Tom Hiddleston are in a FAKE relationship. He wants to be Bond. They look like fools. Please don’t believe this s***.”

As fans continue to speculate about the possibility of Hiddleston looking to be the next James Bond, the rumors that the actor could be ready to take on the role actually began weeks before Tom was spotted out with Swift.

As reported by Page Six, Hiddleston was spotted with producer Barbara Broccoli back in May, which first sparked rumors that Tom could well be in the running to become the iconic British spy.

But while some fans are claiming Tom Hiddleston is looking for the publicity from his new romance with Swift in order to land himself the prestigious movie role, other sources are putting another spin on the James Bond story.

Movie Web is now reporting that Taylor may actually the one with the bond agenda, claiming that Swift could be dating Tom in the hopes that she may stand a chance of becoming the next Bond girl, which got fans seriously speculating on social media.

“Taylor Swift using Tom Hiddleston to bag herself a Bond girl role! IF SHE BECOMES THE NEXT BOND GIRL WE WILL HAVE SERIOUSLY LOST THE PLOT!!!” @FrankieTansley1 wrote.

However, as the rumors continue to swirl, those close to the franchise aren’t giving anything away when it comes to who would be playing the next 007 or the next Bond girl.

Director Sam Mendes has stayed tight-lipped on the possibility of Hiddleston taking on the role, recently telling the Telegraph, “Barbara Broccoli chooses who’s going to be the next Bond: end of story.”

“I can guarantee whatever happens with it, it will not be what you expect,” Mendes added, refusing to directly comment on rumors about Hiddleston becoming the next Bond. “That’s what [Broccoli’s] been brilliant at, and that’s how it’ll survive.”
