Frances Bean Cobain: Ex, Isaiah Silva, Grabbed, Robbed By Britney Spears’ Former Manager, Sam Lutfi

Soon to be ex-husband of Frances Bean Cobain, Isaiah Silva, was allegedly grabbed and robbed by former manager to Britney Spears, Sam Lutfi. The incident reportedly took place earlier this month, and Silva waited several days before filing a police report. Sam Lutfi was once manager to Frances Bean Cobain’s mother, Courtney Love, but no motive has been released, so far, as to why Lutfi would want to kidnap Isaiah Silva.

The only connection Sam Lutfi, 41, has to Isaiah Silva is through Frances Bean Cobain and Courtney Love. Love, 51, was once frontwoman for the Los Angeles-based alternative rock band, Hole, and Lutfi was reportedly Love’s manager for only a short period of time. However, according to the Daily Mail, Lutfi still follows and retweets Love’s messages on Twitter.

Lutfi reportedly still considers himself a family associate of Frances Bean Cobain, 23, and for some reason felt the need to kidnap and rob Cobain’s recently estranged husband, Isaiah Silva. Cobain and Silva were married for less than two years before Cobain filed for divorce, and Cobain is said to have needed police protection when she recently moved out of Silva’s house in West Hollywood.

The New York Daily News reported that police were called to “keep the peace” between Frances Bean Cobain and Isaiah Silva as Cobain removed her belongings from Silva’s home. Another altercation between Cobain and Silva occurred earlier this month that also required police intervention. Details of that altercation haven’t been released, but some speculate that may have been what led Lutfi and one other suspect to ultimately grab and rob Cobain’s ex, Silva.

Police reports say that Isaiah Silva was kidnapped on June 3 shortly after midnight by Sam Lutfi, along with an unidentified accomplice, and carried to his car. The 31-year-old lead vocalist and guitarist for The Eeries rock band was then robbed of his mobile phone. Documents from the Los Angeles Police Department also say that a glass door was smashed during the “scary encounter,” causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

“The Eeries guitarist was in fear for his life. He did not want to go with the suspects.”

Five days later, Silva filed a police report, and now Lutfi is being investigated for allegedly kidnapping and robbing Frances Bean Cobain’s ex. But this isn’t the first time Lutfi has gotten himself in trouble because of his occupation. Sam Lutfi was also manager to pop icon Britney Spears, and in 2009, Spears’ father was forced to obtain a restraining order against Lutfi for conspiring to gain control of Spears’ “life, home, and finances.” Lutfi was also accused of drugging Spears, emotionally abusing her, and cutting her phone lines when he moved into her home. According to CBS News in 2008, Sam Lutfi was the “man behind the scenes” during Britney Spears’ very public downfall that began in 2007, the same year that Spears met Lutfi.

Lutfi is apparently known for his controlling, manipulative, harassing, and abusive behavior. It’s not known what kind of relationship Frances Bean Cobain has with Sam Lutfi, or if Cobain was involved in any way with Silva’s kidnapping. Some are even speculating that Cobain’s mother, Courtney, may have paid Lutfi to grab and rob Silva. Others are saying that Sam Lutfi is just trying to get on Courtney Love’s good side and get closer to Frances, or more specifically, closer to the late Kurt Cobain’s estate.

Ironically, Courtney Love was not in favor of Frances Bean Cobain’s marriage to Isaiah Silva in 2014, even though the couple had already been dating for several years prior. Frances, the only child to the late Nirvana lead singer, Kurt Cobain, actually excluded Love from her wedding ceremony. In 2009, a restraining order was issued against Courtney Love, stating that she was to have no direct or indirect contact with her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.
