BET Awards 2016: Beyoncé’s ‘Legion Make A ‘Formation’ At the Backstage, Queen B Opens Up Show With Powerful Performance With Kendrick Lamar on ‘Freedom’ [Video]

Beyoncé might just surprise the world by having a power performance in the upcoming BET Awards this year.

Though not confirmed yet, Beyoncé’s fan base, Beyoncé Legion, have been posting multiple snaps and video clips of what seems to be Beyoncé’s back up dancers. The dancers also appear to be walking in a formation, which could be indicative of a performance on the show.

Beyoncé is currently working on her Formation world tour, which will feature her latest album, Lemonade.

The backup dancers were so fly during the red carpet that everyone is now on the lookout for the arrival of the Queen B. Perez Hilton also confirmed on his blog that these are really Beyoncé’s troops.

Though the world has been restricted in viewing Beyoncé’s full visual album, Lemonade, Beyoncé’s VEVO page just recently released one of the music videos of the song Sorry, which is included in the Lemonade discography.

This is the first time people have actually seen a full-length show from Beyoncé aside from the trailers available in YouTube. Beyoncé’s Lemonade was also featured on HBO for a limited time.

With the costumes and stance her backup dancers have shown during the red carpet premiere, it is about 99 percent confirmed that Beyoncé is arriving to not only attend, but to perform as well.

Beyoncé is nominated Excellence in Music Video award for Formation and Excellence in Music Video award fro Runnin’ (Lose It All). Beyoncé has also won the Centric Award for Formation for this year’s BET Awards.

And so the Queen Arrived…With Kendrick Lamar!

After the early teaser of Beyoncé’s backup dancers firing up the red carpet for the BET Awards 2016 (as indicated above), the Queen B has opened up the show with a splashy performance of Freedom together with rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The performance was visually stunning with the mix of water-filled stage that made a one-of-a-kind effect as the dancers moved and kicked around.

The performance hit a high when Beyoncé voiced out the lyrics:

I break chains all by myself

Won’t let my freedom rot in hell

Hey! I’ma keep running

Cause a winner don’t quit on themselves

After the stomping, Kendrick Lamar arrives from the center of the stage and complimented Queen B’s set with his beats.

Smoke alarms on the back of us

But mama, don’t cry for me, ride for me

Try for me, live for me

Breathe for me, sing for me

Honestly guidin’ me

I could be more than I gotta be

Stole from me, lied to me, nation hypocrisy

When Lamar’s solo finished, the two made an outrageous duet.

Their powerful performance just fired up the entire show.

“That’s how you do it,” a message Beyonce seemed to be relaying as they finished the set.
