Chloe Grace Moretz Says Boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham Is ‘A Huge Support’

Chloe Grace Moretz is a rising star, and while she’s been acting throughout her lifetime, recent years have been especially kind to her, giving her opportunities such as the starring role in the recent The 5th Wave film and the titular role in Disney’s soon- to-be-released live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Even after achieving so much success as an actress, Moretz reveals that she has moments of doubt and can sometimes be terribly self-conscious, but she credits boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham for his ability to set her straight once again.

The 5th Wave Actress Chloe Grace Moretz Doesn’t Need A Man, But…

Like so many of us, Chloe reveals she often felt awkward and insecure in her early childhood and teens, but no matter how badly she may have felt about herself, Moretz says her mother forbade her from having plastic surgery. That was wise. Chloe reveals she wanted a whole slew of procedures, most of which were unnecessary, because as she aged and adopted a healthy lifestyle, those inadequacies took care of themselves.

“When I was 16. I wanted a boob job. I wanted the fat pad under my chin to be removed,” says 19-year-old Moretz. “I wanted a butt reduction, or whatever.”

While she may have come to accept herself and even to love herself for all of her flaws, Chloe says she still can sometimes feel down and overly critical of herself. This is where Brooklyn comes in, proving himself to be perfectly supportive of The 5th Wave actress.

“My boyfriend is a huge support. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I don’t need a man for anything, but when I’m feeling bad about myself, he’s like, ‘Stop. Look at what you say in interviews. Look at what you stand for. Listen to your own words, because you’re as beautiful as you say you are!'”

Chloe says Beckham is supportive of her in every way. She feels it’s easy for a man to be supportive when she’s red carpet ready, looking her best for the public eye, but it’s a different story when she’s relaxing at home in sweats and no makeup. Even then, Brooklyn has been just as supportive and Ms. Moretz says that’s the true test of a partner’s worth.

Chloe Grace Moretz Feels Empowered By Her Flaws

While she may have once felt a little resentment toward her mother for prohibiting plastic surgery, Chloe’s now grateful for that rule, because it taught her to work with her natural beauty. She reveals that she has used hair extensions in the past, but, as for everything else, she’s worked very hard to maintain a fit physique. Ms. Moretz says she eats “really clean” and works out every day of the week, though she admits to cheating on her diet every so often and skipping a workout here and there.

“But you’re not just born with this. Sometimes you have to fight for and work for things, and be happy with who you are at the same time,” Chloe says. “And that’s a really hard balance, but I want to show it to young women.”

While she admits to days when she’s not really feeling up to the challenges of her rigorous diet and exercise regimen, she says that in the long run, her routine has been well worth it. The workouts, in particular, give Ms. Moretz an added boost to her confidence and keeps her fighting to be the woman she envisions for herself. She’s just as grounded with her social media presence as she is with her fitness routine, posting “real” photographs, instead of the glamorous and retouched images so many other actresses try to pass off as the real deal.

“I try to break barriers. I try not to post Instagrams where I Facetune my face and I wear a ton of makeup.” Chloe Grace Moretz said. “I want to be as natural as can be.”
