If you just can’t seem to score yourself access to the Planetside 2 beta, Sony Online Entertainment is now offering a guaranteed way in–for a price.

On Friday, SOE announced the $39.99 “Alpha Squad” package for Planetside 2, which will net you immediate access to the on-going beta. Of course, that’s not all you’ll get–purchasing Alpha Squad also gets you 4,000 “Station Cash” currency, valued at $40.

Here’s info on how the Planetside 2 beta access works, as per the FAQ:

“We’ll make it easy for you. Upon purchase of the Alpha Squad package, you won’t receive a Beta key. Instead, we will flag your account for Beta, which means you can get right in – no key required! Your purchase confirmation email will include instructions on how to get the installer and log-in!”

If that’s not enough for you, you’ll also get an exclusive camo set for all three factions, and a unique Alpha Squad-themed decal to show off your early support of Planetside 2. Lastly, you’ll receive a six-month 10% XP boost, an exclusive title, and 12 weapon unlocks.

The camo, decal, XP boost, title, and weapon unlocks won’t be available right away, however; you’ll have to wait until launch to receive those. Speaking of launch, the newly-launched page for the promotion reveals that Planetside 2 is expected to release on or before December 31, so you’ve still got plenty of time to check out the beta.

I haven’t had a whole lot of time with the Planetside 2 beta so far but I did enjoy what little time I had with it, and I’m looking forward to diving in over the weekend.
