Everyone Needs To Watch ‘Game of Thrones’ With Leslie Jones

Game of Thrones Season 6 comes to a close on Sunday night, and fans are both equally anxious to see how this season will end and also mourning the end of another great season. As fans prepare themselves for the Season 6 finale, they can now relive the “Battle of the Bastards” with the latest Late Night with Seth Meyers segment, “Game of Jones.” Seth Meyers invites his good friend, Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones, to come over to his house and watch the latest Game of Thrones episode with him, producing hilarious results.

Leslie Jones popularly live Tweets Game of Thrones each week and for Seth (and many other fans) that’s one of the best parts of watching the show. Since Seth missed the episode he decided what better way to watch than with Leslie right by his side and what a great decision that was. It was clear Seth really hadn’t seen the episode yet, based on his genuine reactions to everything but for Leslie, who’d already seen the episode, she was really into it.

Humming along with the intro, as most fans do, you could already tell this would be a great video. During the opening credits, Leslie got excited about seeing Riverrun and admitted that she’s really into the Blackfish.

“I would do sexuals with the Blackfish,” Leslie said. “I’m telling you he would get some Blackfish.”

As they continued to watch the episode, Leslie made a lot of funny and also spot on comments, making us all wish we could watch Game of Thrones with her. Referring to the outfits of the Great Masters as “house coats” and imitating the dragons sounds, even Seth couldn’t contain his laughter.

Leslie also asked for a dragon for her birthday (something probably every Game of Thrones fan has asked for at least once) and Seth suggested asking the creator of Saturday Night Live, Lorne Michaels, for one. Leslie agreed, suggesting that Lorne would, of course, have a dragon.

When Seth and Leslie get up to the main plot of the episode, i.e. Bastard Bowl, Leslie is very ready to dive in. She begins singing, “We’re at the battle of the bastards,” over and over until she sees Ramsey face. Then, as any Game of Thrones fan would, she begins listing all the reasons why Ramsey is the worst.

“Don’t forget you’re a bastard too,” she yelled at the TV screen. “You be forgetting just ’cause [Roose Bolton] gave you a name that you not a bastard. You still a bastard. You killed your daddy. You’re really a bastard. You’re a bastard murderer. How about that?”

Leslie then had to explain what she meant when she said Ramsey and Jon needed to “squab.”

“That’s what they call it in Compton,” she said. “Let’s get our squab on.”

She also gave us a wonderful rendition of “Love is a Battlefield” by Benatar, as Seth tried to hold in his laughter but failed once again.

Later on, Leslie’s fellow SNL cast member, Kenan Thompson, joined in the watch party even though he’s never seen Game of Thrones before. However, he did recognize Peter Dinklage from Pixels.

“You’ve seen Pixels but you haven’t seen Game of Thrones?” asked Seth.

Kenan didn’t last very long, leaving before the “Battle of the Bastards” even really began. It probably had something to do with Leslie’s mention of burning bodies. Not everyone can handle the massive deaths in Game of Thrones.

Hopefully, Seth will bring Leslie back for another segment of “Game of Jones” for the Game of Thrones season finale. Her commentary is hilarious and spot on, and it’s a wonder why they haven’t been doing this all season.
