Demi Lovato Has A Lot To Say: Should Fans Be Concerned?

Demi Lovato has a lot to say these days. After she took a brief absence from both Twitter and Instagram, the 23-year-old continued to express her true and honest feelings on Twitter.

The former Disney star tried her best to take a 24-hour absence from almost all forms of social media, except for Snapchat. Demi Lovato announced earlier this week that she was quitting Instagram and Twitter after she inserted herself in Mariah Carey’s feud with Jennifer Lopez and Ariana Grande. Fans were confused and wanted to know why Lovato wanted to take a break from the social media platforms, but she provided little detail.

“Why do people actually give a f*** what I say,” Lovato vaguely tweeted. “Like if you don’t care the [sic] gtfo haha.”

While Lovato didn’t give a direct reason as to why she decided to take a brief break from Twitter and Instagram, she did address her Be Vocal campaign that focuses on mental health issues such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, and depression. Lovato has been vocal about her struggles with bipolar disorder in the past, especially in her 2013 memoir, Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year.

“That one time I started my own charity providing mental health care for people who can’t afford and this is what y’all talk about,” Lovato then tweeted.

Less than 24 hours later, Lovato made her bold return to Twitter. “F*** this. I’m back b******. And I’m coming back more honest than ever,” she wrote.

Now, the “Cold Stone” singer wants people to focus on more important things like the FBI’s most wanted criminals and global warming. To prove her point, she posted a poll on Twitter, asking people if they could name someone on the FBI’s top 10 most wanted list, or all of Justin Bieber’s exes, which may or may not be shade thrown at her former friend, Selena Gomez.

As of Friday, June 24, about 53 percent of over 100,000 voters said that they could name all of Bieber’s exes, while 25 percent said they didn’t know about the FBI’s list.

According to Lovato, this is not our fault that we’re not well-educated. “Is it our fault though? Has society fed into it or is this just easy business with everyone from blogs to magazines to trying to cash in?” Lovato pondered. “Who’s fault is it that teens can name more celebrity feuds than wars?”

Lovato’s latest Twitter rant has some fans concerned for the actress and singer. Some fear that she may be having a tough time after the shocking news of her split from Wilmer Valderrama. Others think that she may be experiencing another bipolar episode.

The young star was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she entered rehab at age 22, according to CBS News. Before her diagnosis, Lovato struggled with alcohol addiction, substance abuse, body image issues, bulimia, and even cutting. Lovato even credited Valderrama for helping her get through those tough times, most of which occurred during their six-year relationship.

During her last Twitter rant back in May, Lovato told her fans not to assume anything about her life and brought up her bipolar disorder.

“Sometimes there’s more to the story. Maybe I’m tired of sharing my story with the world. Maybe my midnight rants are a part of my bipolar disorder. Can’t change being crazy.. But you can press unfollow.”

Then, she concluded her tweets with the fact that she’s just being honest. Lovato has been preaching a lot about honesty these days.

Back, in October 2015, Lovato opened up to Elle about her struggles with bipolar disorder. The first time she identified the signs and symptoms of her mental health problem was when she was just a teenager.

“I knew at a young age that some of my behaviors were a problem. When I was bulimic, I knew it was a problem. When I was anorexic, I knew it was a problem. But I wasn’t in a place where I could quit by myself.”

Hopefully, Lovato will get back on track with her upcoming Future Now tour with Nick Jonas. She has expressed on Twitter that she’s bored these days, but she’s been filling her time with some intense workout sessions, as seen on her Snapchat account. Lovato recently told Fitness Magazine that her new healthy lifestyle has helped her with her recovery, along with being open and honest about her bipolar disorder.
