Christy Carlson Romano Is Pregnant, Former Disney Channel Star Expecting First Baby And Craving Waffles

It looks like all of the beloved former Disney Channel stars are all grown up now, and that includes Christy Carlson Romano. She is getting her happily ever after just like every Disney princess does. She has just announced that she is pregnant with her first child. She and her husband, writer-producer Brendan Rooney, are expecting a baby girl later this year.

You may remember Romano from the hit Disney series Even Stevens, which also starred actor Shia LaBeouf. The 32-year-old actress and her Marine husband are expecting a daughter on Christmas day and they are beyond thrilled. People had the exclusive details as Christy spilled on just how happy they are since they found out about their new little one.

“I am flabbergasted at the serendipity of having a baby on Christmas. It’s our favorite holiday! What a gift we’ll have this year. Feeling so blessed and grateful … and a little nauseous.”

The cute photo that came with the announcement has Christy and Brendan standing outside wearing grey T-shirts that say mama bear and papa bear. The 33-year-old dad-to-be is holding a small pair of white shoes with a pink bow on top, while the expectant mom is showing off the baby’s due date along with a couple of what looks to be ultrasound photos. She is definitely glowing.

Romano and Rooney were married on New Year’s Eve in 2013. They met while they were both attending Columbia University in 2011. The Disney alum had interviewed her future husband for a documentary about veterans. It only took nine months before they became engaged. They married in Alberta, Canada, at the exquisite Fairmont Banff Springs which is a gorgeous luxury mountain resort, and they have been happily wed for three years now.

Christy Carlson Romano became known as the smart, and sometimes emotional, Ren Stevens on the hilarious Disney Channel series Even Stevens. Shia LeBeouf played her pesky little brother, Louis, who always got into trouble and made Ren’s life miserable at times. But despite their rocky brother-sister relationship, they always came together in the end.

When the series ended in 2003, Shia LeBeouf went on to star in Transformers, while Romano did the voice of Disney’s Kim Possible, the animated high-schooler turned super hero. She also did Broadway playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast. She is currently in the process of directing and starring in a new movie called Christmas All Over Again. It is expected to air this coming November.

The soon-to-be parents were seen for the first time since the baby announcement was made when they arrived on the red carpet for the premiere of Adventures in Babysitting. They were appropriately celebrating Disney Channel’s 100th original movie with other alums, including ’90s heartthrobs Matthew, Joey, and Andrew Lawrence.

Romano displayed her small baby bump in a floor-length floral dress and she couldn’t look any happier. E! News posted a short interview with her as she dished on how appropriate it is that she is having a Christmas baby.

“Our due date is on Christmas. If anyone knows me, I’m obsessed with Christmas. I also have two Christmas movies coming out around the same time, so it’s going to be a very Christy Christmas.”

When asked if she was having any special cravings so far with her pregnancy, Christy mentioned that she wants waffles pretty much every morning now. That doesn’t sound too weird yet and her husband is probably more than happy to help her out in that area.

Congratulations to Christy Carlson Romano and Brendan Rooney on their baby news! It will be fun to see this Disney princess become a new mom to this little girl.
