Jon Gosselin On Kate Gosselin And His Kids: ‘It’s Unfair’

Jon Gosselin is the one person in the classic TLC show Jon and Kate Plus 8 that fans have not quite treated well following the bitter split and subsequent divorce of the two stars. But Jon just opened up about his relationship with Kate Gosselin, who he says alienates the time he gets to spend with his eight children, which includes the sextuplets that were born just before the launch of the show that made them famous.

In a new interview on Yahoo, Jon Gosselin has finally been able to really open up and take a few jabs at his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, whom he says portrays him as a deadbeat father. It has certainly taken its toll on the disgraced former reality TV star who now owns and operates his own DJ service in his hometown of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

But when Jon Gosselin isn’t busy spinning his discs at weddings and nightclubs, he says he tries to spend time with his kids. But that is not an easy task, as he says that he only gets to see four of them at a time, and he never gets to see his son, Collin, who is 12 and shares a birthday with five of his brothers and sisters.

“Now all the secrets are coming out because I’m not afraid to say anything. ‘How come you only get four kids?’ Because who I get is who I get,” Jon Gosselin told Yahoo. “Whoever comes through that gate or gets off that [school] bus is who I get. And Collin is homeschooled, so he doesn’t get off a bus.”

What’s even more distressing for Jon Gosselin is that he said that he hasn’t seen Collin now for over a year and a half, which presumably means he did not see him on his birthday with his other five kids who share the same birthday.

“I can’t do anything,” Jon Gosselin said. “It’s unfair of her (Kate Gosselin) to do that, considering she claims that she does her best for all my kids. Dah, dah, dah, drama. ‘I’m perfect.’ No one’s perfect, honey. Trust me.”

There is always the option for Jon Gosselin to take Kate Gosselin back to court to enforce more time with his kids, but there is also a downside to that, as many divorced parents in the country can attest to. Sometimes, the amount of money it takes to get a court judgment enforced costs so much that it is not even possible.

“People are always like, ‘Oh, I would fight so hard [for a better custody arrangement].’ I’m like, ‘Honey, you don’t have the money to fight that hard. Do you know how expensive court is? You have no idea.’ All the filings — and I do my own filings, then submit them to a law firm for stamp of approval — I have to pay for that,” Jon Gosselin told Yahoo. “And pay all the court fees in the hopes that you’ll get something out of it. I’ve been going to court for seven years now. Unless you can arbitrate out of it and have a working relationship with the other parent, you’re going to spend a lot of money.”

There is also the issue of one parent saying negative stuff to the kids about the other parent, which Jon Gosselin says that Kate Gosselin does quite frequently. This can really put a lot of pressure on their co-parenting relationship, but even more on the children who are caught in the middle of a domestic war that has been taking place in the media for quite some time now.

“Kate tells my kids a lot of stuff, and they tell me,” Jon Gosselin said. “I don’t want to get my kids in trouble, but she pretty much alienates me. ‘He’s a party boy. He does this…'”

As far as Kate Gosselin goes, she is still very much in the limelight with her show on TLC still going, albeit to low ratings.
